~THIRTY-ONE YEARS AGO~
Thirty-one years ago
You left without a good bye
Thirty-one years ago
My heart broke and cried
Somehow I've survived my child
And am still on earth today
I think about the years I've missed
On this our special day
Thirty-one years ago
In a hospital in a bed
I held your tiny body
And caressed your beautiful head
I swore on that day
I'd always love and protect you
I didn't have a choice
When the Angels called for you
Thirty-one years have passed
Some have been hard to get through
What I would give to go back in
time
And have a lifetime with you
No granduation did I get to see
No marriage was in store
Instead I have your clothes and things
All boxed up and put in drawers
I look at your little watch
The one you wore that day
And see the time the angels called
The hands stopped when you went
away
I touch the cute drawings
You made for me in school
How you loved to attend
Though time was short for you
The angels came too early
When they came and took you away
But I'll always remember your birthday
my child
We never got to say good bye that
day
Wait for me my child
I still have things on earth to
do
But when the angels call my name
I'll be ready and waiting for you
Happy Birthday Andy
I'll love you forever and ever....

eternity
