June 23, 2003: I have made some updates to the 1977/78 school year page.
June 20, 2003: I have decided (albeit belatedly) to honor both the 30th Anniversary of the James E. Allen Learning Centers and the 25th Anniversary of JEA—Dix Hills’ Class of 1978 by including a brief story about the 1978 graduation ceremony.
June 21, 2002: I have decided to start my coverage of the years before the James E. Allen Learning Centers opened by adding 1972-73 school year teacher lists for both Woodbury and Kent. How many Woodbury and Kent teachers do you remember?
April 23, 2002: A number of changes have been made at the Classmates website. (The address is http://www.classmates.com.) More schools have been added, including James E. Allen—Dix Hills. However, I want to offer some suggestions concerning how to register with the James E. Allen you attended or worked at.
· If you attended or worked at the James E. Allen Learning Center in Dix Hills, New York, you must do the following:
· If you attended or worked at the James E. Allen Learning Center on Carman Road in Melville, New York, you must do the following:
1. Register with Classmates if you haven’t already.
2. When you browse for the school, click on United States, then New York.
3. When you get to the page asking you to click on the first letter of the city in which the school was located, click on M, for Melville.
4. Look for Melville and click on it.
5. Find the school name James E. Allen, click on it, and follow the rest of the registration procedure.
