WLIX 1981 Lineup
This
page was last updated on July 26, 2003.
A few new shows were added to the WLIX lineup in 1981,
including the nationally syndicated program Focus on the Family with Dr.
James Dobson. By November, according to
Newsday’s radio listings, it had taken over the 11:30 AM timeslot of The
Southwest Radio Church.
Also premiering sometime in 1981 were Every Day With
Jesus, a 15-minute daily spin-off from Revivaltime co-hosted by Dan
Betzer, and The Voice of New Life, hosted by Pastor David Munizzi of the
Valley Stream Assembly of God Church. I
don’t remember the exact airtimes for these shows, but I believe Voice of
New Life may have aired at 11:45 AM starting in the summer, while Every
Day With Jesus may have aired at 1:00 PM.
I would like to thank Mr. Brian Fisher, a former DJ at WLIX,
for much of the 1981 programming lineup information.

Summer 1981
NOTE: Based on what I remember, I have reason to believe
that Focus on the Family premiered on WLIX sometime in the spring or
summer of 1981. I also believe The
Light of the City Ministry with Rev. Peter Demetris may have premiered in
the summer of 1981.
