The H.M.S. Endeavour was launched in 1765 and was acquired three years later by the British Admiralty and prepared for a three year voyage under the command of the famous Captain James Cook. His most important mission was the scientific observation of an eclips of the sun by Venus in the southern hemisphere. After numerous adventures and tragedies in which part of the crew lost their lives, the H.M.S. Endeavour returned th England on July 13th, 1771.
