Nick glared at Amanda as they went up to the house for something to drink.
"I thought that you couldn't play the game, but you were really good."
"I never said that I couldn't play basketball, I just said that I didn't like the game. There is a difference."
Nick laughed, grabbed her hand and started singing "We are the Champions" as they ran into the house. Brian and A.J. scowled at their blonde friend when they saw him holding hands with Amanda.
After getting some water, Amanda looked at her watch and decided that she needed to go back to her place to do some studying.
When she told the guys this, they objected, but they realized that she would be around because she was helping B.J. So they said their good-byes and Nick walked her out to her car.
Before she left, she stopped to talk to B.J. about their meeting times and to say goodbye.
Nick waited while she unlocked her car and dumped her stuff inside.
"It was really nice to meet you, Amanda."
She turned and smiled up at him.
"Same here, Nick. And thank your parents for dinner - it's nice to not have to make and eat dinner by myself again."
Nick frowned, "Do you do that often?"
"What? Eat dinner? Yeah, every night." She smirked. "No, I do have housemates, but our schedules are all so weird that we hardly get the chance to eat together as a house."
"Do you live in a sorority house or something?"
"Well, some of us are in the same sorority, but we aren't required to live in the house until next year."
Nick could see Brian and A.J. looking out the windows at them, so he opened the car door for Amanda so she could get going.
As she drove off, she passed a car coming in that had two young guys in it.
They were pretty cute, she thought. But then so were Nick and Brian and A.J. How lucky could I get to meet such great guys!
She was thinking so much about the afternoon she just had, that she just about missed her exit.
She turned quickly and drove all the way back to her house still thinking about the guys.
Especially Brian and Nick.
