"Why did we even put up with her for that long?" Sarene was the
resident loud mouth. While her intentions were good, for the most part,
she usually ended up saying more than she intended.
"She's been my best friend since we were born. It's really hard to
let a friendship like that go." Trisha looked forlornly at the table.
She knew Julia had to be set straight, but she felt really bad for doing
it.
Kalli noticed the stressed look in her friends eye and stopped
sipping her milkshake for a moment. "You need to relax, Trish. All of
the stuff you do makes you so serious. When was the last time you did
something just for fun?"
An awkward silence prevailed. Sarene and Kalli looked at Trisha,
the stress clouding her eyes. "Come with me to a concert tonight."
Sarene's blue eyes danced. "My cousin got tickets for her and her friends
but they all flaked on her. We can all go."
Trisha looked uncertain. "What concert is it?"
"Hanson."
"Who is Hanson?"
"No way! There is no way in hell anyone is going to drag me to
a Hanson concert!" Kalli stood up, ready to make a scene.
"Oh God Kal, it's just one concert. It can't be that bad."
"The hell it can't! Do you know how annoying their little fans are?
And that song...Mmmbop..." she shuddered. "I hate it so much, it's the
dumbest thing I've ever heard."
"Who is Hanson?" Trisha stared, wide eyed.
Sarene and Kalli stared back at Trisha, mouths agape.
"You don't know who Hanson is?" Sarene finally said.
"They're three brothers who look like girls and sing and play
instruments in a band." Kalli quickly snapped out of the trance and
leaned back in her chair.
"It'll be fun! Like when we were little. It'll help us relax."
Trisha agreed to go, although unsure she would actually enjoy the show.
Kalli refused, saying she would have nothing to do with her nine year old
sisters favorite band. Although she promised to give her sister the ticket
and that she'd hang out with Trisha and Sarene some other time.
