One of my all time favorite musicians and people is Tori Amos. Not only does she possess a quirky beauty and a lovely voice, she also has a twisted view of life, one that I share. Her music inspires me, in my artwork, and in my life. If you ever read this, thank you Tori Amos, for all that you have shared with the world. |
This page is still under construction..I want to inform the world of who Tori is..where she came from..and where she is going. The little info I know off the top of my head I will type now. Her real name is Myra Ellen Amos, and was born on August 22nd, 1963 in Newton, North Carolina. At 5 years old, she was the youngest student at Baltimore's Peabody Conservatory. She was expelled at age eleven for music insubordination (presumably her love of rock music). As a teenager, she played in bars, till she was 21, then headed to LA. Her first band and album, Y KAN'T TORI READ (a reference to her inability to read sheet music, but play a song by ear), did not fare well in the music scene, and was considered a flop. Now that album is considered a collectors item for its low distribution. She was exiled from England, and had a literal fall from grace, but eventually returned triumphant with her first solo album, Little Earthquakes. Since then she has sold over 5 Million albums to date and started the female artist trend of the nineties. Today she is married to English sound engineer Mark Hawley and together they have a daughter, Natashya Lorien Hawley, and reside in England. |
