{Note: This page was created assuming that you have read the previous page and selected to follow Sarnah into her quarters.}
You follow Sarnah to her weyr to see her dragon.
"Alright, some background information first. He's a brown, and his name is Jactoth. He's extremely egotistic, as he is one of only two browns in his clutch, and he went and chose a female. He likes to, how could I say it.. Stand out; be unusual." She grins and winks at you, and you're not sure what to think. Unusual? What is considered usual for a dragon?
Sarnah stops in front of some elaborately decorated double-doors. They're both red with gold handles, and dragon etchings run up and down the sides. Two greens play near the edge of the doors, with two blues hovering over them. A brown, on the left, and a bronze, on the right, each watch the lower-ranking dragons from above, and a golden queen is stretched out across the top, ruling over everything she sees. A rainbow of firelizards circles the handles, and a magnificent white sits in the middle, wings flared, mouth open in a roar that you can hear in your mind.
Sarnah pokes you in the side. "When you're finished staring at the doors, may I open them?" Her expression is amused, and you blush slightly and nod. She grabs the handles and pulls them towards you, revealing a monstrous room with a wonderful view of the ocean beyond, and a faint outline of Oceanside Proper.
There is a long table in the middle of the room, with chairs on either side. Large book cases are on both side of you, overflowing with books. Sarnah's wide bed is pushed against the west wall, with another filled book case to fill some of the remaining void. The east wall has a gigantic stone couch, with a small brown lump visible on it, and the whole south wall is gone, with the same mysterious protection in the ceiling of the main bowl: an invisible force field that will keep out the weather, but will let in people and dragons that should go through it. The ceiling is domed, and the whole room is painted to look like dragons playing on the beach, complete with firelizards roosting in the nearby trees and a queen guarding her clutch on the barely visible hatching grounds. The detail is incredible!
"Gorgeous, isn't it? I used to feel horrible about having this room, but now.." You take a casual glance at her shoulder knot and nearly fall out of your chair in surprise! It's two loops with a double cord each and one tassle, and strand of gold and brown running through it. (Weyrlingmaster, with a brown dragon, for those of you who can't read Pernese knots ;))
"Now I can officially supervise the candidates without people giving me odd looks. And Jaccy, well.." Sarnah takes a side-long glance to her lifemate, who appears to have struck a pose.
"He's a ham alright, from Talor Cliff Weyr. Such glorious dragons are shelled there! Raoth had a wonderful clutch of twelve eggs, with no queen egg and two whites. And, of course, my Jactoth, whish was the best egg there!" She grins.
"
"Some of them are older than I am! And, I have two pets." She motions toward the huge window, where a dog lies sleeping, sunning itself and not even noticing your entrance. "The dog is named Nira, and I have a black pegflit around here somewhere. Jactoth takes surprisingly well to Nira, though. He says that he likes small furry things, and will protect her. From what, I'm not sure. Nira could probably do a better job protecting Jactoth!" She shrugs.
"I was not born in Oceanside Sands, or Oceanside Proper. Rather, I was born in the cliffs above the Proper, brought back by my mother, Koraya to the Proper and then scouted to the Sands." You blink and try to sort out what she just said. She laughs and shakes her head.
"Erm, Sorry about that. I tend to confuse people frequently, even if not usually intentionally. That's a habit I shall have to break."
I understand you, Sarnah.
"Of course you do, dear heart!"
When do we eat? I'm hungry! When are the weyrling lessons?
Sarnah sighs. "Love, I told you, they're not until.. Shards! I've got to get down there!" Jactoth rumbles and jumps off of the couch onto the floor, waddling towards the door.
"I'm sorry, traveller. This conversation was enchanting, but I must end it. Fair flight!" She runs to assist Jactoth out of the door, and you take one last look around before leaving.
