Paul London was brought into WWE in the last half of 2003, after wrestling in a special challenge against WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. He started to team with Spanky, but Spanky quit WWE and Billy Kidman took his place as London's partner. They wrestled mostly on Velocity for the first half of 2004, but one night on Smackdown, they won the WWE Tag Team Titles from the Dudley Boyz. They teamed with Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam to face all three Dudleys, but lost. A few weeks later, they were in a match against Jamie Noble and Chavo Guerrero when Kidman knocked Chavo out with his Shooting Star Press. A couple of weeks later, they lost the belts to Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree, after Kidman couldn't bring himself to perform the SSP and walked out. London was outraged, and demanded an answer as to why Kidman would abandon him. Kidman attacked him instead, ending their partnership. At No Mercy, Kidman beat London with the SSP, and then gave him another SSP as he was strapped to a stretcher, giving London internal injuries.
