Johannes Michael Zeller - became John Michael Sellers, after arriving in America. Enlisted April 1776, in the Revolutionary War, Capt. Croghans Company - 8th Virginia Regiment, and served two years. Government records show that John Michael Sellers was in the battles of, Brandywine, Germantown, and Monmouth. At the time of his enlistment he resided in Woodstock, Shenandoah, Virginia. Michael SELLERS--Widow granted pension Mar 12, 1853, cert #W-9298

Michael SELLERS enlisted April 1776 in the 8th Virginia Regiment and served two years.

An affidavit dated Jan 13, 1853, by widow Catherine, age 90, declares she and her husband moved to Bracken Co, KY after they were married, settling on Little Bracken Creek. After her husband died June 4, 1836, she went to live with her son, Philip, in Kenton Co, KY, where she now lives.

A copy of a marriage record showed Michael SELLERS and Catharine DILLMAN were married Dec 20, 1789 by Rev James SCOTT in Bourbon Co, KY

DEPOSITION JAN 1853, Kenton Ky of Catherine SELLERS ages 90 Widow of Michael SELLERS soldier in Captain CROGHANS co of the 8th Reg of Virginia Line under command of Col Peter Muhlengerg Enlisted at the breaking out of war or early spring of 1776 in said Co for two years

At end of term , again enlisted in same Co and Reg for the remainder of War or for the term of 7 yrs

Believes he enlisted at Woodstock, Shen Co, VA If not he returned to Lancaster Co, PA and enlisted. Michael SELLERS was born in Germany and came to US when very young and settled in Lancaster Co, PA
