The Harrisville Society of Friends
is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized
for the private gain of any person. It is organized exclusively
for charitable, religious, educational, and/or scientific purposes
under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The organization was co-founded
in Harrisville, Ohio on September 6, 2002 by Nancy Cullen and
Shari Friend to assist the village in ways that other organizations,
such as the Auxiliary, Ruritans, Lions Club, etc., could not
provide. The organization is to help make Harrisville a better
place to live by helping with community development, beautifying
the village, and to creating a better and safer environment.
Purpose
The specific purpose
of the Harrisville Society of Friends shall be for, but not limited
to the following:
promote
community safety
promote health and welfare
promote social education
promote community buildings
promote culture, the arts, and
sports
promote public good
provide community involvement
activities and events
preserve the environment
prevent community deterioration
Tax Exemption
The Harrisville Society
of Friends is non-proft. All donations to the organization are
tax deductible to the donor under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code.
Source of Funds
The organization receives
the majority of its support from the public through cash donations
and sponsorships and by their own fundraising events and sale
items. Once the organization is completely functioning, applications
will be submitted for grants and matching programs.
Use of Funds
The organization will
utilize all funds to preserve the community; promote community
development; prevent community deterioration; preserve the environment;
provide community involvement with events and activities; and
much more.
Meetings
The organization meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00
p.m. at the Ladies Auxiliary Building. If you wish to join you
