He Said He'd Always Be There
When you first fell in love
You were on cloud number nine
You got along really great
And everything was fine
He treated you like a princess
And gave you everything
You would never have guessed
That it was just a fling
Everything was so perfect
You just knew it would last forever
You took it for granted
That you would always be together
Because he acted the same way
Always saying how much he loved you
And he said it with such emotion
That you never doubted it was true
He said he'd always be there
But just like a dog gets tired of a bone
He carelessly tossed you aside
And now you're all alone
But he's not lonely like you are
He's already found someone new
It makes you wonder
If he really cared about you
The proof of your undying love
Is now growing in your womb
But he doesn't seem to care
About the new person arriving soon
Oh he says that he does
And that he wants to be your friend
But actions speak louder than words
That don't really matter in the end
All that matters right now
Is that he's gone
More and more often you wonder
How you manage to carry on
But you do it for the baby
And wonder how bad it will get
You try not to be depressed too much
But mostly you try to forget
About how naive and blind you were
And all your hopes and your dreams
That were crushed when you realized
That nothing is like it seems
But even though you're lonely
You have friends you can talk to
Sometimes that doesn't help much
But you know they care about you
They tell you it'll turn out okay
And not to give up trying
But sometimes it's so much easier
To just go on crying
But you have to go on with your life
And get it through your head
That even though it seems hopeless
You would not be better off dead
You have to go on living
And try not to lose your mind
So you take things as they come
And deal with it one day at a time
