THE BROKEN HEART
My baby lay
on display
in the funeral home
that day.
My heart was
broken
My tears were
flowing
freely down my
face.
I didn't want to let
him go
but I was so grateful
to know
that only his body
was dead.
This gospel is sweet
and has helped me
to see
that life does go on
from here.
