CHESTER

  This city continues to grow in fame, and visitors in ever increasing numbers come to see it.

It is impossible to visit, whether it be long or short, without acquiring a store of the most pleasant memories. While it would be invidious to single out any of the innumerable places of beauty and interest in the neighbourhood of Chester.

It is midway between the Welsh Mountains and the Cheshire Hills, Chester is within easy reach of an astonishing variety of scenery, varying between the essentially modern coast resorts of Lancashire, Wirral and North Wales, to the wild moors of Derbyshire;

   from the pleasant agricultural and wooded landscape of the Cheshire hunting country, to the rugged peaks and valleys of Snowdonia.

Whatever direction may be selected, the motorist will be delighted with the excellence of the roads, and will find in the city itself centrally situated, parking and accommodation for all his requirements.

Should any day prove inclement, the tourist need not be at a loss for something to do: the morning, for instance, might well be spent in viewing the Cathedral buildings; in the afternoon the streets of the city may be explored under the welcome shelter of the Rows; and the day concluded by a visit to one of the city's various places of entertainment
