SHORT STORIES THAT I HAVE WRITTEN

Many of the following "clips" from the events of the campaign on Chameleon V are dotted around the site - they have been collected here along with other stories which I hve written for ease of viewing - Enjoy!!

Captain Birzcran knew that the forces of the Waagh were on their way. All he could think about was how he was going to defend himself and his men on their desolate training planet far out on the Eastern Fringe. A force consisting mainly of Ogryns had never before been put in a situation of such importance, and for good reason - Ogryns were simply not thought to be capable of a defence or attack without the direct leadership and co-operation of vast Imperial Guard regiments. Good fighters they may well be but they could never be called intelligent at the best of times.

The few Human units stationed on Chameleon V had been working 24/7 to get the force prepared for the expected invasion. The few Adeputus Medical corps troops who were available had been working around the clock to come up with and then implement intelligence enhancements for the lumbering fighting machines. The officers of the guard had been directing the Ogryn forces in the creation of vast complexes of Defences - not knowing where the enemy may decide to land meant that the force had no idea where to look - Defences were everywhere - left, right, up and down the face of the planet in the vain hope that they may be able to hold off the invaders long enough for re-enforcement's to come from the inner Imperium. All The Captain could do was watch and hope, listening the scanners as they buzzed continuously - but never a word from the Imperium - just more and more reports of Piratical Forces sighted on the Planets surface as the Orks whom surrounded it scouted out the defences. Watch and Hope. He knew they were going to attempt the defence - but no-one could tell how long the force could hold out - it was all down to time now.

"we've got it!!"

The cry was one that had been awaited since the first arrival of the Ork forces on the Eastern Fringe. The medics had cracked the stupidity of the Ogryns. They had just succeeded in the first of their experiments to give intelligence implants to the Ogryn forces on the planet. This was the breakthrough they needed. Now the force may stand a chance of survival - BONEHEADS had been born!!

The Radio crackled into life.

"This is the raptor class ferry the Chrome Arachnid - can any one hear me??"
Finally, the ray of hope the defenders were waiting for - one of the ferries from the nearby depot planet had finally got through the hordes of Ork Hulks. Quickly but calmly the radio operator responded to the message
"Hello Chrome Arachnid - this is Officer Barret of the Chameleon V Defensive initiative - Pleased to hear from you - over"
"Hello officer - its one hell of a party out here!! What are your co-ordinates - having got this far we would hate to miss the station and our tracking devices have been knocked out"
"OK - can I check what you are carrying so I can send you directly to where you are needed?"
"Gorgons Officer - five hundred of them - straight from de-commission for the Imperial Company on Ichar VII"

Having just finished the initiation of the production of the implants for the ogryn Boneheads, the servitor sat down for his first break in nearly a month. No sooner had he sat his metal arse down on a burnt out rhino motor then an Messenger came running up to him. That was the end of the break. As the servitors gathered, the news was heard of Captain Birzcran's next orders. The task was simply put. Create what you can for the defence of our planet - we are on our own now. There is no hope of more supplies through the Greenskin lines. We must defend this planet and it is up to you to create whatever you can for the effort. Whatever you do from now on is crucial, use what you can find, and make the most of it - we are counting on your creations to save the planet - good luck. With that they got to work - designing and building machines of war with whatever they could find.

A Longer (GOOD!) story.
