We gather...

Men and women, broken and weary
walking in hiking boots and tennis shoes
carrying coffee cups and cigarettes

to the "Suck Dick" palace
a run down picnic shelter
with cement picnic tables that won't walk away

in an urban park strewn
with crack paraphenalia and condoms
on a Saturday afternoon

If you perceive it...

Energetic, holy people, filled with vitality
in flowing liturgical robes of many colors

with the breeze bristling their hair
and the light of sunset on their brows

as they approach the Temple of my Familiar
stone altars in this Sacred Grove

The fire burns
Betwixt and Between
