I love horses.
(No way, are you serious? Would never have guessed! ;)

Becuase I live in the city and my back yard is too small, my love of horses -- and the wanting to have a horse -- is tempered with my toy horse collections. The Ponies you know (at least, that's why I figure you're visiting my page ;) Here is a chance to meet the other georgeous equines who frolic through Whimsy's Stable!

For speed of loading, I have place the picture galleries on seperate pages. Of course, I hope everyone will have pictures eventually :) Check them out!

The Breyers :)

I never had Breyers as a child. They were waaaaaay too expensive. And for the most part, the ones I saw growing up had THE WORST paint jobs. Seriously, *I* could have done better! It wasn't untill the late '90s when I noticed Breyer horse again. The paint jobs had definately gotton better. But they were still too expensive. I played with my Grand Champions and forgot about them. And they I found Stablemates.

Another thing to note is that it's nutty to try and find a store with Breyers were I live. No store seems carries them regularily, beucase, they say, they don't sell to well (well, at $50 pops a horse...) The Stablemates I found at Toys R Us, of all places; and so it began...

My Beautiful Aguar!
When I worked on site at Mideaval Times, I fell in love with the horses :) Who wouldn't?! My favourate pair were Jaguar and Ulyssys; Ulyssys was a magnificent Friesian, and Jaguar (pronouced in spanish, 'aguar') was the most georgeous Andalusian I'd ever seen. From that day on I went looking for such a model. And here I found him :) It captures his very essence. Simply stunning!

Kismet and Morgana
Kismet is a bay pinto in the classic size, a beautifully poised staillion with his neck extended. "Kismet" is an arabic word, meaning luck, or fate; it just seemed to suit him :) Of course now I will have to find him a pinto mare, and name her Karma...

The Rose-grey Arabain is Morgan Le Fey; I fell in love with her the momment I say her! I was looking for that perfect Karma, but I found her instead :) I wasn't planning to name her Morgana, either (I was atually naming something else Morgana) but kept looking out at me from the mists [of Avalon] so that the name was given to her!

Morgan Stallion and Mare
The Morgan Stallion was the Breyer that started it all. He's a honey-coloured bay it a beautiful arching pose. I think it's the pose that sells me more then anything. And a good paint job, which this boy definately had. A few weeks ago I set out my Stablemate on display, and saw I had room for one more. So I went and bought him his beautiful red mare :)

Bay Draft Horse
I love little horses, and big horses with feathers! So this '94 release stablemate was a must :) I found him in the clearence isle at Toy'r'Us, poor dear. Now he has a proud place on the shelf with the others!

Pepper
I found this staillion at Goodwill for fifty cents :) It was a good day. By fluke I stumbled apon a pic of him new-in-package, he was part of a riding set, so that's how I learned his name. And for a flea-bitten grey, I can't think of a better name!

The Shire
Ah, horse feathers ;) This ol' thunderhoof came in a pony trade from good ol' Marie (who also brought me FSFs :) What's not to love about opening a package full of horses?! And though he looks great in black, I keep having this urge to paint him a nice, broad blaze...?

The next Stablemates were all brought to me by a great pony trader, Jessica! I drew the picture of Rapunzel for her as a way of saying thanks for helping my herd grow!

Andalusian
I fell in love with the andalusians while working on a short film shot on location at Medieval Times. When I wasn't needed on shoot, I was off to the arena, watching the the stallions warm up and go through thier pases. It was love! So I have to get an Andalusian for my colection. I hope to one day get a larger one, but this stablemate is a jem in minature :)

Paint Staillion and Foal
What can I say? I love spotted horse! Breyer appys always seem to be lacking, but thier paints and pintos are perfect!

Saddlebred Mare and Foal
Oh, gosh! This foal is sooo cute! trying to scratch his nose...! And the paint on his mom is just wonderful!

Pinto Pony
Did I mention something about liking "painted" horses? *G*

Coming soon - Many more breyers, the stable door has been swinging furiously the last little while ;) I think I will have to build them thier own page soon...

The Breyer pictures were taken from BreyerHorses.com Used without permission :)

The Other Horses

Silky Mane

Lady Lovely Lock's horse. Did I get the name right? Did they really call the horse Silkymane? She's beautiful, with her body of swirled purple irradecence; Lady Lovely Locks, Fairhair, and Culry Locks are always argueing over who'll get to ride her next. Luckily, Silky is such a good sport!

Silver, the Lone Ranger's Horse
I remember one year I was eight, and there was this lovely jointed horse at a garage sale. My father wouldn't let me get an "old horse", but I always thought it would be neat to have a completely posable horse. Just the other day I was at a thrift shop when they had a white jointed horse for three bucks. I very quickly got him, took him home and cleaned him up - and found out he was Silver. Not that I've actually seen an episode of the Lone Ranger, but I still hear the William Tell Oveture in my head when I see him!

Mattle Horses
Though I can't look Barbie in the eye without expereincing flu-like symptoms (I think it's that fixed, glassy smile) her horses I always considered lovely. I'm sure they origonly had names; I'd like to know!

Dallas
The classic horse, every girl I new when I was young had one. Except me, of course. But that's all been changed.... *evil laughter tinkles... until Neena realizes she's not sure what she's laughing evilly about...* Thanks to Carrie for finding her name!

The Dapple Grey
The neat thing about this horse is that when you prance her up and down, chimes tinkle inside of her. She must have been a circus horse; I call her Gypsy.

Western Star
This cream coloured horse also has iridesent tinsle in her hair, and rubber "stamps" on her feet. Thanks again to Carrie for nameing her :)

She-Ra's Horses
She-ra's horse are, of course, minatures of the big barbie counterparts. It's not a bad pose, after all. To date, I have every She-rah horse except Royal Swiftwind. My favorite has to be Arrow :) But then, I must have mentioned how much I like little blue horses...
