A new series from the creator
of Butch Patterson: Private Dick and Kevin Spencer this series showcases life's difficult decisions in a
sometimes comical, sometimes tragic way. As decisions and events impact the characters lives, we see their struggles, losses and triumphs.
Events rotate around quotes that Joe has put on the blackboard of his epynonymous coffee shop.
Fans of Butch or Kevin will recognize some of the cast members, returning to work with Greg Lawrence on this project. The show was filmed on location in and around Ottawa, as well as at the company's studio. It's great to see that the cinematography and art direction has remained strong in this production. It's a pleasure to see a show that can take its surroundings, even the waiting rooms and hallways of the office itself, and put them to good, solid, artistic use. I was struck by the sheer artiness of the show's opening credits, something I wasn't expecting, but enjoyed immensely. The theme, too, is a quirky mix of coffee noises and notes. The show looks promising, and I applaud Ocnus's effort in brewing up a pot of caffeinated entertainment.
