Why I don't read or post at Nifty

1. Nifty is commonly accepted as the mecca of bad slash, with good reason. The stories there are so bad they're offensive.

2. The organization of stories is poor-to-lacking. There is no reasonable way to find your favorite authors without sorting through everything you don't want to read. (Or so I understand; my favorite authors have nothing to do with Nifty.)

3. Evidently Nifty has a high volume of stories to archive. Fine. There still must be a better way to add new parts to works in progress. Having to flip through pages to read five-minute "chapters" is a waste of everyone's time. Either the archivist should add new parts to the end of old parts for one continuous story (with the latest installment separated for readers who don't want to read the beginning again), or the writers should change their format. Writing in longer sections would be nice. Try that.

4. Nifty's sponsors run ads for on-line pedophilia. That is not only offensive but illegal.
