This is the whole nebula. Most of the stars that appear to be a part of the nebula are actualy between us and the nebula itself. The Eagle Nebula is an emmission nebula. It is about 20 light years across(Light travels at 186,000 miles per second, it would take 20 years to go from one side to the other at that speed!)
