Radio news anchor and longtime comics fan Alan David Doane has combined his interests to create the Ministry of Disinformation and Popular Enlightenment. Alan does a daily radio news program in Albany, New York.
Count on the Ministry of Disinformation
for Alan's Essays, and articles of interest on a wide variety of topics, not the least of which is his growing interest in the nature of the universe, and his thoroughly fascinating ongoing autobiographical section True Stories.
Look to the Ministry of Popular Enlightenment
for commentary and essays on comics-related issues, comic book reviews, plus interviews with comics creators from all areas of the artform.
Alan is 34 years old, and first got into radio after attending Adirondack Community College in Queensbury, New York in the mid-1980s.
He has been a comics fan since he was six years old, when he had his tonsils out and his mother brought him some comics to occupy him during his recovery. He is trying his best to pass the hobby on to his two children.
His wife tolerates this activity.
Alan has been married to Lora since 1993 and they have two kids, their daughter Kira and son Aaron.
A big part of Alan's life since late 1998 has been Diabetes--"The Deadly Sugar." His mother had it, he got it, and so far he has managed to keep it under control. There's an article about it in the essays section.
Alan is growing skilled in the art of writing about himself in the third person.
There's more, of course--which you'll discover by perusing this site. Thanks for stopping by!
