THE ANGELFIRE COLUMN
by Joseph A. Hazlitt
printed in PaulsValleyDemocrat&WW Gazette

LORD'sDAY 1-22-11 It's only Saturday, but recently I'm counting every day the Lord's. So here's a thought about the Middle East talks. You must now that the Palestinians and Israelis are deadlocked again even after Tony Blair tried so hard to get the EU'a aid and was given a year by the Obama administration to reach a settlement. Seems that the EU got drawn in and wanted Iran to participate also. When the Israelis refused to stop their new construction on the West Bank and also East Jerusalem, the Palestinians balked again. The meeting was to be at Istanbul, but now it's off because Iran refuses to cancel their nuclear productions. They claim it's only for civilian use but everyone else doubts that, even the US. So here we go again, after 8 years of negotations we still don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. ANGELFIRE's view is that it's all according to Scripture about Armageddon. And this secular world that has yielded a vast amount of control to Satan, continues to do so both here and abroad. We are not admired as in times past, but seen as a sucker for slight of hand diplomacy. Over and over the 19 suicide bombers of 9/11 are emulated and imitated by suicide bombers in the war of terrorism against us. Add to that the eruptions of nature around the globe as fire, floods, earthquakes and even mass suicides i.e. Cambodia and the end of history looms nearer every day. Our one BLESSED HOPE is the Savior's promise to return at the Last Day. And so he will, so keep the faith. Here's a chorus the guys all sung with me up at LARC Sun. night: "Soon and very soon we are going to see the King, soon and very soon we are going to see the King, soon and very soon we are going to thee the King, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah" SoLong/Shalom,JosephA@webtv.net

ANGELFIRE 1-25-10 Dating used to be between male and female teens, but now it's appearing in our national congress. Doubltless you've heard of the plan for seating tonight of opposites to hear the State of the Union address by president Obama. Seems the idea was suggested by Democratic member Udal of CO, then echoed by Congressman Chas.Schumer of New York who mentioned himself along with Sen.Tom Colburn from OK, the antipode if NYC vs OKC. Then the idea caught on with most all of Congress. So the media is calling it "date night." ANGELFIRE doubts that the speech will have such thrill as would an adolescent date with a mate. But it does add a touch of romantic consideration to a rather tortured agenda of debt overload, unemployment and world tensions (as we pal up with China economically). It's hard to ask that we pray for what seems more like a Hollywood production. Yet we had better get on the level with the Guy on high (for heaven sake I'm getting that foolish ring myself). Lord God help us all in this world where a slick trick is at every turn, like talking in rhymes (which I love). One of the subjects I've mentioned before is about that Star of Bethlehem book which links the Magi with ancient China. It's by the name "Shir" instead, and tells of a dozen wise men who found a land route to come from the far far East. And the star was Jesus himself, who had come down to the sons of Seth so long beforehand, and told them of himself as the talkative baby Jesus. Does this sounds like baby rhymes too? Maybe so, but professor Brent Landau up at Norman has dug it up from an ancient manuscript he found in the Vatican library and put it in his book entitled "Revelation of the Magi." Maybe Obama will mention China in his State of the Union address. We'll have heard it already when this comes out in print. So I'm praying right now for him as president of our country: the United States of America, one nation under God. SoLong/Shalom,       JosephA@webtv.net

ANGELFIRE 1-27-1l A dream came to me last night that woke me up as I thought and pondered it's import. It wasn't about things in the news, which I watch so constantly i.e. Obama as our cheer leader in his State of the Union address, nor the Super Bowl coming up, nor the budget vote on Valentines Day with a threat of government shutdown nor any of these public arena affairs. It was about the end of gravity, a universal force. I've mentioned it before as being named from the word "grave." And it's taken a basic place in the physics of Sir Isaac Newton whose said to have been sitting under an apple tree when one fell on his head. He pondered what caused it to fall and came up with that basic theory of physics whereby all things are pulled downward. Now the apple tree legend is sure ly from the Garden of Eden account of Adam and Eve. So gravity conveys a note of penalty as do the penal words of YAHWEH to humanity: dust thou art and unto dust shalt thou return. So my dream was of an ending to that penalty with the final coming of our Savior, Christ Jesus. It would mean an end of night because the darkness is from gravity. It keeps our planet rolling and pulling everything toward it. Thus even time measurement derives from gravity as the days are numbered after each rotation. So an end of gravity in the Solar system would mean the cessation of days. That would mark an arrival of THE ETERNAL DAY that was seen in my dream. The old heaven and earth were passing away and the New ones dawning, where there is no night. Of course this pertains to planet Earth where we creatures made in God's image all dwell. If there are other worlds, their heaven and earth would likely vary from ours, which is told in the first words of the Book of books, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was void and without form. And darkness became over the face of the deep."   Such darkness was from the fall of a mighty angel named Lucifer, who drew a third of the angels of light into his following (or gravity with draws everything toward self) instead of electromagnetic radiation which flashes powerfully outward as light and heat. Gravity has never been part of the Big Bank theory as it just doesn't fit. So it's and intruder (even into the cosmology of physics) that will finally be cast out of our part of the Universe. Come Lord Jesus, SoLong/Shalom, JosephA             AoP

LORD'sDAY was yesterday. So this is Monday now. I had been attentive to the crisis in Egypt all week and still am, but have yielded to behold a monster storm moving across our land. OKC was it's first major place, with Tulsa next and on NE to the Atlantic coast. It's being counted the biggest one in a decade and ANGELFIRE wonders if divine Providence has given US a sign of the impact on history events of Egypt (most ancient nation) will have. Now it's angry demonstators are expecting as many as a milion to join them in Cairo next Lord's Day. That's an echo of the biggie that in Helsinki Finland several years ago. It was a protest against Iran's Islamic state, as I recall. But in Egypt it's likely to be the reverse side, with that Muslim Brotherhood rising to power. Sure looks bad or Hosni Mubarak and his new appointees. Vice president Oscar Sullimon just might survive the shake up, and if so he may keep a few of the replaced Congress Hosni just appointed. But it shows how Islam yearns to see small things emerge into vast dominions. This began across Africa from Egypt in that small nation which rejected it's dictator. He not only resigned, but fled for his very life. So it has set a new precident for the whole Arab world. The turmoil has begun just as our Lord Jesus foetold of final days before his glorious return to rescue his Church. C.L.J.

ANGELFIRE 1-31-11 As we begin the second month of 2011 here in the USA, we'll be feeling a winter storm from Canada that's more frigid than any in many years. Seems a wide cold front coming down has merged into one less freezing. That starts moving northeast from our OKC area and travels clear up to New England. So ANGELFIRE foresees plenty of ice and snow ahead. It surely will slow down highway traffic but speed up efforts to get indoors. After watching TV of all the myriad of people in Egypt out protesting Hosni Mubarak's endless autocratic rule, I sure feel that a warm home's a heaveny blessing. I don't guess our thermal cold could compare to the bitteress of their national ruler. Even the peace that his regiem has fostered with neighboring Israel during the past 30 years is called a "cold peace." When things are done on the sly for the sake of appearance, they have no reality but are cold dead instead. And since TV has so completely invaded today's culture, appearance has replaced reaity nearly everywhere. Thus, the Mideast has not enjoyed real shalom these past three decades, but only a counterfit of it; "just like the movies" we used to say (way back when). But we are glad to have just the pretense instead of out-and-out warfare. If it turns into such over there it will draw in the whole world very quickly. Even these million man marches are contageous through media exposue (remember our's on Wash. DC led by Louis Ferrigan of Black Muslims in America. Just last week in Cairo there was an echo of that week or so before in a little nation, Tunisia,, that is across the oontinent west from Egypt, If Mubarak resigns, as the president in Tunis did by fleeing his country, it could be followed by chain reactions throughout Africa and the Arab world. Since Satan is a dictator, it's exciting when he flees from Christ our Savior and Lord. who is the divine light to expose the crafty, cunning treachery the adversary employs. It makes me recall this little song for Epiphany: "Jesus is the Light, Light of the world. Jesus is the Light, Light of the world Jesus is the Light, Light of the world. He's ever shining in my soul." Little tiny flash lights are common now called LED light. They are the same as those new headlights we've seen driving at night that contrast with the old amber kind. Luminous Electromagnetic Diode is it's full name, though daylight's the color. They use far less electricity since no heat is generated. So they don't burn out either. ANGELFIRE senses that even tehnology has given us a clue about the New World coming when Christ returns. And as the song says, it already has come inwardly for Bible believers. Hallelujah! ANGELFIRE 2-03-11 While we Americans have endured a monster winter storm going clear across the land the citizens of Egypt saw their huge protest stretch from Cairo out to the whole country and around the world. At first peaceful it has turned violent with the counter demonstration for Hosni Mubarak, who refused the people's call for him to resign. I had long felt some sympathy for their "president" but his supporters using violence has altered ANGELFIRE's view. Now Obama will have to turn away from and support or sympathy for Mubarak. By the time this gets in print he may have stepped down or at least moved the election much closer.   Otherwise things could turn into a full scale revolutionary war.   And most likely Egypt would wind up as another Moslem government in the MiddleEat. That would escalate Mideast tension whch we've already currently seen in Jordan's shake up and Lebanon's change of leadership. So it's going to be worse than a monster storm over there, unless the Lord comes first. Nature is telling us that also. Down in Australia there's been a big hurricane and we have watched poor Haiti right here "down under" suffer so much from nature. Now even their former dictator "Baby Doc" has returned. Certainly the devil is raging and is must mean his days are running out. I talked last time about the heavenly daylight that LEDs signify so recently in. So sing with me "Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face, and the things of`earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace." SoLong/Shalom,       Josepha     AoP

LORD'sDAY or Sunday here, isn't a day of rest in Egypt. Instead it's their first work day, with Friday is the day off for prayer to Allah. But all the demonstrater's praying failed to bring down Mubarak. Only his v-p has agreed to meet with them for talks about changes. So now our attention on this Super Sunday is upon Cowboy stadium in Dallas as the Steelers play the Packers for a national football championship. There will be consderable patriotism shown at the half time. So perhaps it deserves more attention than that even that Liberation Square in Cario. JosephA@webtv.net

ANGELFIRE 2-08-11 Sunday was certainly a day loaded with history. First to ANGELFIRE was the Lord's Day for worship by Christians GLOBALLY. Then the uprising in Egypt reached crest tide as their V.P. talked with the Protesters; and also in the USA we observed the a century ago when John Reagan was born in a small town in IL. Later he picked his public name as Ronald (self chosen). Then to admirers he became the Gipper. So he was acclaimed as greatest President of America, since he was best known and admired around the globe. The airport in D.C. (that ANGELFIRE used in '85 to go help in a Billy Graham Crusade) when it was Wash.Nat.Air Terminal got re-named as Ronald Reagan National on his birthday in '94.   He had made us allies to Mubarak of Egypt way before then. So Sunday marked his 100th birthday.   On the same day Obama had spoken out cautiously to show such alliance as no longer being our position. Oh yes, there was the NFL super bowl game at Cowboy stadium, America's greatest sports event.   And all of the above in spite of a terrible ice storms for a week clear across the nation.   Since Niece and I learned that Joy Church would be closed, we went up to PV and found Faith Temple open. It's where Rev. Sellers is pastor. I thought the guest minister looked familiar and he turned out to be David Hamilton with whom I had ministered years ago The crowd was small but his message was delivered powerfully, and warmed our hearts with Spirit fire despite so much snow and ice outside. His text was about God's fire in the Temple vs the false fire of two sons of the high priest as fakers, Lev.10, as I recall. It sure did fit the weather situation outside. And now we'll all be back in snow plus ice again by the time you read this. So let us seek that holy fire in our hearts, brothers and sisters of faith. All the global items I've mentioned portend the soon coming of Christ Jesus! Be ready for that great final DAY!! SoLong/Shalom, JosephA@webtv.net {PS) headline "Woe to Nations Warming at Satan's Strange Fire" came to me last night after written.

LORD'S DAY 2-13-11 I was glued to the tube on Fri. watching Liberation Square in Egype. It was day 11 as well as the eleventh-hour for Mubarak. What a relief when he resigned. But the paradoxical situation was being depicted even by the lighted circle on TV that was called a"Square." And by it's name Liberation, when Egypt's army had taken control. Both details defy the credibility of what happened I feel. So now the army has dissolved their Constitution and taken control until September's election. Maybe it has learned to play fair since it's been trained over here and equipped with American weaponry also. We surely hope they won't turn it into another crafty caper of becoming another dictatorship for Egypt. I think that even the US was once ruled by General Geo.Washington's army until civil authority got establihed when the Revolution ended. Now there's several other Arab nations trying to get rid of dictators there in Africa. If Cairo fails to sustain freedom, then the rest will be a house of cards too. So we'll just have to wait as we fight our own budget battle back here in Congress. There could be a vote against any budget increase, and that would shutdown our Federal government again as back in the nineties. Such seems more urgent than it was then and could lead to global financial collapse. President Obama's to present his budget tomorrow with billions in cuts of entitlements, but still not balanced. A world dictator might soon emerge as having the answer to end the world's financial chaos. Sounds familiar to us Bible believers. But we look heavenward for the Lord to appear at long last for his church Bride, maybe on Valentine's Day since God is love (agape). We know the Bible was first in Hebrew and later translated into Greek, which all the ancient nations could read. Angelfire feels it was also because Hebrew lacked a word that clearly expressed God's divine Love, AGAPE!!! Shalom, JAH C. L. J. as we keep praying

ANGELFIRE 2-15-11 Hasn't it been good to see something besides Egypt in world news lately. But now iran is looking ugly again with demands that opposition leaders be executed. That's just what we feared might happen in Egypt. Though Iran isn't an Arab population the way Egypt is, it could still see a rise of Islamism as Iran did. So things looked sweet for Valentine's Day, but may yet turn bitter as hostility toward Israel builds. Those who plan for a peaceful world to emerge are just being duped by the devil. He's not through with his manipulations on the world stage, though modernity tried to pretend evil had no such thing as a Satan. Yet we can see how he has infiltrated even much of Americanism by now. Even our courts take his side more and more as the fight for freedom goes on. And atheism continues to increase despite our national motto "in God We Trust." I'm thinking of a song we need to sing: (each and all, together now) I trust in God wherever I may be, upon the land or on the rolling sea. Though billows roll, he keeps my soul. My heavenly Father watches over me. If enough Americans keep that in their hearts as they pledge Allegiance to the flag (one nation under God) then Jesus the Son will remain far more real. I had a professor in seminary way back in the fifties who summarized the Gospel in two words, GOD IS. He taught us the divine name Yahweh, and said it means "I exist" in the present moment. And the name Jesus means "Yahweh Saves" or Savior. That's when ANGELFIRE began to see how names in the Bible give a key to destiny. And the destiny of God's people is heavenly freedom which begins in each heart and is consummated when Christ returns to take his Church of all believers to himself forever. SoLong/Shalom,     JosephA

ANGELFIRE 2-17-11 Rep.Paul Ryan is claiming in our battle over the budget that we need entitlement reform to avoid bankruptcy. That last word is the night mare of our nation. We just refuse to deal with it and now the hour of showdown has arrived that this young Congressman is pressing upon us nationally. I'm a little wary of the word "showdown" because it comes from gambling, or ending of a poker game. Even there is yet a "winner take all" consummation. But in our national life there will be no winner. Instead of showdown it will be shutdown. I could not even find "shut down" in the Bible but did find shut up in 2 Chronicles. It's an expression of insult that ANGELFIRE tries to avoid like profanity. I think that such was why the women of Egypt used to always wear veils over their face. But we didn't see such in the demonstrations bringing down their dictator Mubarak. Female voices were actually the majority heard without an head scarves to hinder them. Instead of shut up it was shout out. And it finally got the desired result of an ousted dictator and a free election coming in September. But shutdown is the fatal word for our economy. It happened back in the late eighties and then we made a comeback. But Rep.Ryan doesn't think that would be a possibility now. Yet without an end to increase in our federal debt there has come a day of final reckoning. If shutdown is the only alternative, then we'll have to gamble on it again. Entitlements may thus have to be cut, which is a very very hard sell in Washington. Now something's got to give in this Congress session or we will be in worse shape than Egypt was with Hosni Mubarak. Oh that we could make our debt disappear, like he seems to have done over there. C.L.J. JosephA     AoP

LORD'sDAY (start of March) The winter storm of last week and week before do seem to prefigure our nation's financial crisis. Traffic was shutdown all across the land and we ondered if even the Super Bowl in Dallas would have post phoned. If the government has to shutdown as some suggest, it will be far worse than the bad weather cold that us froze up those two weeks. The free flow of money that keeps our economy alive will be choked off. And shut down will result all over America. Already there is difficulty in getting loans, but it can get a whole lot worse with SHUTDOWN. The situation in Wisonson has resulted in protest demonstrations like those seen in Mideast Arab countries. Just how quickly things can fall apart. Those 14 state representatives who fled the capitol to get out of Wisconson avoiding a vote is appaling to ANGELFIRE. They didn't dare to vote against the teacher's union in their state, so the governor had to send police looking for them. What a shame and disgrace for a sorry example to students in Wisconson. Ugh. For them shutdown is spelled with an i where the u is supposed to be. And that's a prelude of what it will become for our whole nation is the vote May 4 is to freeze the national budget into no more increases.(said only here online but not in print). JAH of Angelfire.com/or/hazlitt

ANGELFIRE 3-10-11 I've just seen a long article MS-NBC had on the web about Libya's Pro-Qadafie Kidnapping those brave protesters. Families of victims later find their members mutilated bodies in various random places. It's all done secretly to stifle any more opposition to the brutal dictator in Tripoli. And it makes ANGELFIRE want to call out our Marines to get him. Their heroic song comes to mind: From the hals of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we will fight our countries battles on the land as on the sea."   That Libyan monster had already boasted of his admiration for Adolph Hitler and the NAZI party he used to rule Germany. So Quadaffie's doing it all over again right there in Libya nearly a century later. Of course we are already in two other wars (three counting the Mexican border drug cartel). And our economy is so stretched that we just can't afford still another war or sending in the Marines. But surely we can impose a fly zone on parts of Libya to curtail that dictator's rule. It seems so much like WW II all over again. Maybe WW III is on our doorstep next. North Africa is right up close to the Mideast around Israel. And that's were the Bible shows that history is to be ending.   And we've been played for suckers the past three decades as we were allied with Quadaffie and his ilk, all the while knowing he was a maniac seekingr power. Of course we will pray that the UN and EU will be decisive in his downfall. But all Bible Believers should be making ready for the Prince of Glory to return from heaven "in a moment of time, in the twinkling of an eye; with the sound of the last trumpet when the dead in Christ shall rise first to be caught up in the air and join him." Then the rest of the living and dead will also be gathered up all together forever, having newly glorified bodies that will be rejoined with their righteous spirits Christ Jesus has brought with him. What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. The one who saved my by his grace, and I shall look upon his face. Then he'll take me by the hand to lead me though the Promised Land. What a day, glorious day that will be.   So/Long, Shalom           JosephA     AoP       BB

ANGELFIRE 3-07-11 For both weather and politics March did come in like a lamb and may yet go out like a lion. The little warm period did not last and some extreme cold is yet to be expected before April showers bring May flowers. Likewise, the efforts of Dems and Repubs to get together on our national budget is freezing again into the camps of spend more and cut back more. That dreaded "shutdown" may yet happen a second time in America's history. And it can bring far more harmful consequences that it did back in the nineties, when the name of Newt Gingrich became so well known. Maybe his mention of a run against Obama in 2012 will be the Repubs way out. But ANGELFIRE thinks that would surely be w-a-y-o-u-t instead of the way out. As of now the Dems want to cut back just six billion and the Repubs sixty-one billion dollars (to add no more to our present federal debt of some 14 trillion). It even takes computers to even think in such vast dimensions. As I remember that InternationalYearofAstronomy 2009, when the whole world was engrossed in astronomy, even the age of the Universe was set at only 13.7 billion years. Instead of trillions, we used light years to measure outer space. But now the global financial measure is in trillions (ours at 13.7 dollars). And shutdown is how a computer turns off. You have to give it time or it will get jammed with uncompleted programs. I opened my Bible this morning to l Corinthians .15, about the day of resurrection as the Apostle Paul describes it. He held to the Jewish belief in bodily resurrection when Christ returns. And in that chapter he tells of the new heavenly bodies we will be given who await the Lord's return. They will be unencumbered with earthly limitations, even the law of gravity. To ANGELFIRE that law of physics is a type of debt. It holds down and restricts everything. But in Resurrection Day will free us from such bondage. It's far greater than the Greek concept of immortal souls to replace physical bodies. Even the physical will be made all new again. So our blessed hope is greater than only moving on beyond temporality. It's the Resurrection Day that brings total fulfilment with no more debt from sin. The Hebrew greeting word shalom best sums it up. Shalom in Christ Jesus (peace, prosperity, perfection) at his coming again.       JosephA         AoP

ANGELFIRE 4-14-11 O sing to the LORD a new song. Sing to the LORD all the earth. Sing to the LORD. Bless his name. Tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among all nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples. (Ps.96:1-3) was given ANGELFIRE to dispel this climate of shut-down our nation has to face as our debt limit may be raised again. We tend to see our 14.2 trilliion debt as doomsday for America, and that may well be so. Yet our ultimate trust is in the one named in our motto on every dollar bill, "In God We Trust."   And here in the season of Easter egg hunts, it depicts how badly cracked our national egg has become. Isn't that what the word egregious means?   And president Obama knows well how to play with words in his numerous speeches to us. We should listen and then turn to our Bible for getting back divine guidance from Yahweh. His name means I AM here, and the Ps.96 tells us to bless it in song, even amid the follies of human existence. Another egg illustration I've prized lately is that planet Earth has a crust so similar. And it has cracked in various places. So pressure builds between the separate plates of Earth's crust and can push one up over the edge of the other. That makes an upward lift of the ocean above, which is a tsuname -- greatest water surge known (and Japanese name too) The surge flows clear across to other continents with force that can destroy cities and drown whole populations i.e. Japan. Tsunamies may not be new, but I've just learned of them in my own recent years. They signify to ANGELFIRE a final judgement as the final enormous swooning of mankind. The great Day of the LORD is surely at hand in this tsunami era, yet we who trust in his Son, the Lord Jesus, will be caught up to be with God at his Son's final return and sing the praise of Father, Son and Holy Sprit forever and ever.   C.L.J. JosephA                 Apostle of Parousia

ANGELFIRE(dedica. to my granddaghter inTusa)4-17-11 This is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. It recalls the children that came out to meet Jesus waving palm branches that day when he entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey. We love to recall the joyful greeting from that throng who welcomed him with shouts of hosannah to the king. Of course there were adults too, but children add such drama to the glorious event. Ever since it stirs hour hearts to see the boys and girls march down our church aisles carrying palm branches. Jesus told us to have such faith in him as we learn life's deepest lesson from them to trust and obey. Then the week moves on with testings that reach a climax Thursday evening in the Last Supper, as the Lord Jesus tells the Twelve how he is to die on a cruel cross. He said "In the world you shall have trials and temptation, but be go good cheer, I have overcome the world."   So he brakes the Passover bread and tells them it is his body for them to eat. Then the cup containing fruit of the vine is lifted in his hand as his blood to drink. It's the shocker since blood has been always forbidden for Jews to consume, since it's of divine origin. Yet he's showing them that he is the Passover lamb being sacrificed so that the angel of death will pass over the household. And he died in our stead as the first born of the Virgin Mary. Then Friday it is all takes place just outside Jerusalem at Golgatha. What a marvel that we know it as Good Friday, when so much cruelty, terror and brutality happened. He was taking hell in our behalf, the punishment for our sins were put upon him, that we might experience forgiveness and know it because of his triumphant resurrection two days later. So now we anticipate his soon return in glory as we see the sun rise on Easter. That is truly a Son rise celebration that depicts his coming from the eastern sky with all the angels and spirits of the righteous dead for their final resurrection day. Our own bodies will then be changed and made like his own glorified body. Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth keeps marching on---forever!!   His very final appearing is the East in Easter!!! JosephA

ANGELFIRE 4-21-11 EarthDay aside, a couple of calamities remembered already this week are the OKC bombing 16 years ago that killed 168 and the Gulf Oil Spill just a year past when 11 died with an off-shore BPrig explosion. But two thousand years ago, it was the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ that Good Friday records for all time as the cure of everlasting calamity. It was the rejection by the Jews of the one that Yahweh had sent to be their King. Jesus was from the line of his earthly ancestor, king David, who is also called in the O.T. "a man after God's own heart."   The name David means "beloved" as he surely was. In Hebrew Jesus is Yeshua, and Christ (Messiah) is Messhea; thus Yeshua Messhea.   Yeshua is the same name as Joshua in our O.T., but the J was first a Y. There is no J in Hebrew. And Yoshua/Yeshua means Yahweh is Savior. That allows the Father's name to be embodied in the Son's. I like to pronounce them together in prayer: Yahweh--Yoshua. They even sound so much alike just as "like father, like son." Still we know Yahweh as God the great I-AM who is Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. While Yoshua is also God (as the son): he was conceived by the Holy spirit and born a first child of the human virgin Mary. From Mary's womb the Son has entered humanity by being born. He then lives a perfect (sin free) life and finally offered it on the Cross to atone for all human beings accepting the payment he made for them with his precious blood. Only blood can atone for sin all through the O.T. consequently humans must never consume any since it's so special. Yet the Lamb of God breaks an evil spell of bondage that Satan has has cast over mankind. He gives humanity his own Blood as the sacrificial offering and the Devil is defeated. The confirming evidence of proof is Yeshua Messhea's rising from the tomb in that Garden of Gethsimenae. He appeared first to the Apostles who were all Jews that came to know him as their long awaited Messiah. So they became the New Israel that grew first out of the Jewish synagogues, and then clear out into Gentile churches after Yoshua had ascended back up to heaven; where he's still seated at the the right hand of Yahweh. From thence he will come again in the East to judge all nations as he takes up all his own people (Bible Believers) to be with him forever. EASTer's consummation is his appearing in the e-a-s-t-ern sky. Sunrise worship services vividly dramatize that reality far beyond mankind's Earthday. C.L.J.       Shalom--Shalom, JosephA@webtv.net

Index 162 back to index161 Index 162 of J.A.Hazlitt's online column ANGELFIRE 2-03-11 While we Americans have endured a monster winter storm going clear across the land the citizens of Egypt saw their huge protest stretch from Cairo out to the whole country and around the world. At first peaceful it has turned violent with the counter demonstration for Hosni Mubarack, who refused the people's call for him to resign. So sing with me "Turn your eyes upon Jesu. Look full in his wonderful face, and the things of`earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace."
