Four’s Company
Hello All!
I hope your summer’s going well and full of new adventures. As you know mine sure is! But it wouldn’t be as rewarding without the dynamics of my three teammates Andy, Stephanie, and Jennifer.
Before we met in Dallas, I only knew them through e-mails. They’re all full of excitement and ready to seek where God desires to use them in this world.
Stephanie Myers was the first teammate to contact me via e-mail. She is so full of life! Stephanie is 20 years old and has been attending a Southwestern College in Phoenix, Arizona. She and I share a common bond for high school students and short-term missions. She too has been through the trials of life, and has found the peace and joy that only God can give. She hopes this experience will truly stretch her.
Jennifer Turner just turned 24 during our first week in Guatemala. She is from Minnesota and has been working as a track coach in her spare time. She has been a bubbly spirit to have around. She helps keep me from being too serious. She’s an awesome prayer warrior for our team!
Andy Coleman is our gentleman of the group. He is a fellow Oregonian, who transferred into Multnomah Bible College this year. His family has been supporting OC missionaries and heard about STEP in one of their letters. His desire is to see if full-time missions is in his future.
The dynamics are wonderful to see how God strategically placed us together. We all have common bonds, but all have distinct differences to complement each other. It makes me excited for next summer’s team I will be working with.
July’s schedule will follow the same format as June’s. We have all day July 2nd to catch up a little before we leave at 6am for Comitancillo for 5 days. We will come back into Guatemala City to live with host families from July 10-15. This month STEP has the privilege to invite visiting friends and groups into our program as well. Between July 17-25 we will be traveling every two days around the southwest. Then as soon as we regroup in Guatemala City on the 25th, we leave for the east coast to Puerto Barrios, Livingston, and La Pintada.
So much is crammed into our month. Please pray for safety, good health, peace and strength. Before I know it, we will be headed back to the U.S. on August 8th. Pray that we’ll stay unified as a team and spur each other on to keep going. That’s what I love the most about these trips: when we cannot go any further, that’s when God opens our eyes to His glory and power. Let go and Let God.
