The Clifton Historic House Tour always takes place in spring, when bulbs and other early flowers are well along in bloom and the trees have started to bud out. The fresh colors and scents of spring add immeasurably to the experience of viewing these historic homes, many of which have stunning gardens and borders.
This year's Clifton Historic House Tour date is Sunday, April 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 per person, with proceeds going to the Clifton Historical Society. Tickets may be purchased at area businesses, the Gaslight Theater, and the Clifton Historical Society office next to the library.
You can drive from house to house if you wish, but some houses have limited parking areas, so you are encouraged to take the free shuttle. Pick up the shuttle at any of the houses in the tour.
This year's tour includes several homes that have not previously been open for the tour, including the two Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Clifton. You can also see the newly restored Ibold house and the Wylie mansion on Lafayette Avenue. Don't miss Rose Cottage, with its exquisite rose gardens, on Oxford Terrace.
