(This statue of Queen Victoria, outside the Queen Victoria Building
in Sydney sat outside Leinster House in Dublin until 1947, when it was
removed and given to the City of Sydney - who actually asked for it! The
addition of a statue behind it, of her dog, Islay, gives it the
affectionate name: The Bitch and her Pup. The other large statue
of Queen Victoria in Sydney, at the bottom of Macquarie St, was
pulled out of a bog in Wicklow and transported to Australia.)
