Greeks And Italians Prepare For September 27 |

The international between Greece and Italy has been officially been given approval by the Rugby League International Federation.
The match has been confirmed for Kogarah Oval on September 27 with a 3pm kick-off.The game was set to be played at Henson park but the venue became unavailable due to ground work.
The match will be staged on a Saturday afternoon allowing plenty of time for anyone wishing to head to Aussie Stadium to watch the NRL grand final qualifier which will kick-off at 7:30pm. The NRL grand final will be staged on October 5.
"We had to make sure that we played the game against the Italians before the NRL grand final because everybody seems to switch off. go on holidays or prepare for the cricket season" said Greek Rugby League founder Colin Mylonas.
"Staging the game on a Saturday afternoon will benefit everyone. There is an NRL match on Saturday Night and many people have other commitments in the evening. We are planning to make it a family day thus staging the game during the day".
Greece's trial match against the NSW Universities on August 31 has been postponed until mid-September. Most of the players are still commited to their clubs in August.
The Greeks have already put together a provincial squad of 25 players under captain-coach Steve Georgallis.
"Everyone is ready to go. It isn't going to be easy but we are prepared to put in the hard yards to make this work" said Georgallis.
Greece will also enter a side in the World Sevens qualifiers and will be touring New Caledonia in February 2004.
