Maskim
Just warning you all, I’m about to dork out big time. The Maskim do not show up prominently in Sumerian versions of the myths, but they do show up in the Babylonian ones. Their precise role in the hierarchy is rather ill defined. They are definitely underworld demons similar to the Galla. They are more powerful and come after the Galla. They seem to act in ways like a tornado might. They also seemed to be placed in a position where they keep the Galla in check.

Notice a lot of “seemed to” in my description just there? I have done a lot of research into the demonology of the Sumerians, but there is a lot of guess work involved.

I also really like how the Maskim turned out in this picture. Like large imposing djin like thugs.
