2003 MUSTANG COBRA (a.k.a. Terminator)
In february of 2001, a member of the mustang engineer's team told reporters that Ford was experimenting with a supercharged version of the SVT Cobra. Details weren't disclosed, but rumors were that SVT was going to produce a special high-performance edition of the standard Cobra; the next cobra R. The code name for the program was called "Terminator". At the Chicago auto show in February of 2002 the rumors were put to rest. The Terminator was no longer a special edition because it was slated to be produced as the standard 2003 Cobra. From the outside the 2003 cobra does not deviate that much from the previous 99/01 model, but the true difference rests under the hood. The 03 cobra was provided with an Eaton Supercharger, a water-to-air intercooler, 6-speed T-56 Transmission, and forged internals. These major advancements allowed the stock Cobra to produce numbers equal to or exceeding 390bhp and 390tq, compared to 320bhp and 317tq for the previous Cobra model. And thus, the most powerfull production Mustang in history was born.

390HP is a lot, but you can never have too much. Now it pumps out about 550-600RWHP. Exact numbers to be determined in spring of 04.
