One thing to say about this gig was that it went off!!! It was absolutley unreal, i didnt think it was going to be too good but i was proven wrong and it was excellent. I took one of my friends Tim as he contributed to my collection of 60 coke labels!!!I didn't buy a single coke and scavanged the grounds for bottles, so for me it was a chance for a free concert. I ended up getting 3 tickets for it but only used 2.

We went to newy by train and it was pretty good, our first ride by ourselves i might add! So we were pretty cautious not to miss the stop which was broadmeadow. We walked the opposite direction of the entertainment centre and wound up at maccas and straight out again rushing back towards the centre eating along the way.

We arrived at the gates and boy was there a que!!! Tim suggested we wait at the end like good citizens, but i decided we should push in at the front. Tim mentioned that there were alot of older people, I didn't realize at the time but there were adults there lyk 30+ n it was amazing to think that people of there age would go around collecting labels off coke cans as if they were still kids. But all the same they were here to enjoy a fab show.

Finally at 6:30 the doors opened and a lady took our tickets off us and stamped us for the standing area. Tim didnt look to happy bout this, coz he didnt wanna be squashed.

As we went in i bought a live n local shirt for 20 bux n then we headed into the area, its much much smaller than sydney, smaller than i expected it to be but one thing remained the same - it held gigs so it was just as good! We grabbed the front row on the gate, just to the right of the mosh near the end of the stage, but by the end of the night we ended up moving closer and about 2 rows behind from where we started.

The bass was pumped and they were playing "on my mind" by the almighty powderfinger on the adds. That got me very excited!!! We stood there waiting for about 15 mins n then the first band was introduced by the host.

7:00 BetchadupaThe unknown band by most Aussies, from New Zealand this band rocked. Some great music being played, a good sound and very loud!! We had subwoofers infront of us so it help set the atmosphere. There was alot of crowd surfing too!

7:45 Magic Dirt Adalita the chick singer, didnt appear on stage with the rest of the band, and we were confused that it was the wrong band! Although i wasnt lookin forward to this performance, boy it went off, there actually really good and the crowd seemed to be enjoying them too. By the end of this act me n Tim were jumpin around a bit, he was starting to get into it! The drummer for this band was crazy, n he sweats lyk a pig. Every now and again people would be pulled over the gate from crowd surfing, we cheered and high fived all the ppl running back from the gate.

8:50 Jebediah The Jebs were a performance I was keen to see, I only had there newest album so most songs were unfamiliar to me, but all the same they rocked, playing one of my fav songs, I went crazy and by this time we had moved across a bit more and there was heaps of people surrounding us, Tim got all excited saying *We're in the mosh!* It was really fun, it wasn't hectic no surging at all, I looked and saw girls dancing and I thought wow at least everyone is enjoying themselves.

9:30 28 days Another one of the bands I came to see, they put on such a great show and we both loved it. They know how to rock! I asked tim *I wonder what the singer plays?* and then he came out and he just had a mic! The crowd absolutley loved them. I remember seeing a guy that was over the gate, climb on it and then jumping off expected to be caught by the crowd, but he fell flat on this poor kid. I didn't see him for the rest of the night. We almost had a crowd surfer over us but changed direction.

We had a really good time, but had to leave before Machine Gun Fellatio performed. Oh well it was worth going to it, my first standing experience which was great!
