Recorded in Philadelphia, I Broke My Radio is Blather's Kites first full-length collection of songs.  Released in August, 1993, these 4-track versions of classic Kite tunes represent the band's best works, and the tracks were written and recorded at the group's creative peak.  Though having utilized only minimal equipment, the band's sound comes across as dynamic, fresh, unique and stylistically broad.  Even though many of the songs were later re-recorded using digital 16-track equipment, the band often refers to this as their favorite collection of songs.

In 1994, Blather's Kite decided to enter a professional studio and record.  The net result came in the form of Coal Slag, a collection of nine Blather's Kite favorites.  Recorded at Clear Studio in the band's hometown of Shamokin, PA, the album also marks the last time the band recorded together in a studio setting.
