St.
Thomas Cemetery Guidelines
1439 Ridge Road, Hooversville,
PA 15936
In the spirit of maintaining the sacred nature and
dignity of the St. Thomas Lutheran Cemetery, the following guidelines
should be observed. We ask for your understanding.
1. Permitted
Planting in approved beds up to one
foot in front of a memorial. The family must maintain the weeding of
the planting during the growing season or planting may be removed if
it becomes unsightly.
Artificial flowers may be placed in
approved permanent vases, in an approved planting bed (one
arrangement per grave space), on an upright memorial and the
arrangement must be secured.
2. Not Permitted
Planting or decorating during the
general cemetery cleanup period of April 1 through April 15 other
than Easter decorations.
Any additional shrubs, trees or
bushes.
Anything that presents a safety
hazard, such as borders, marble chips, fencing, wire, toys, glass,
etc. Those already in place must be removed.
Flowers or objects that are unsightly
or detract from the spiritual setting of a Christian cemetery.
Pets, trail vehicles, littering,
loitering.
3. Regrettably, we cannot be
responsible for anything placed at the gravesite.
4. Those wishing to save plants or decorations in the Fall should do
so by October 15. After this date, the caretaker will do a Fall
cleanup.
Thank you for your cooperation.
