Tiny Show Ponies

A long, long time ago, I can still remember how that music used to make me smile.

No, no, no, that's not how the story began.

At a time very much like yesterday in a small suburban hamlet lived a family of tiny show ponies.

The father though large for a tiny show pony was in fact quite small when compared to a standard show pony slaved day and night making tiny show pony shoes. Though he did not particular enjoy making tiny show pony shows, he did it because he was good at it and it kept the family in tiny show pony shoes.

The mother though large for a tiny show pony was not quite as large as the father tiny show pony who still was nowhere near as large as a standard pony, show or non-show, worked in a land filled all sorts of strange and dangerous wonders such as the Hot Metal Bridge that burned the feet of those who stood in one place for too long.

The children tiny show ponies that were three in number being that three was the ideal number for young tiny show ponies were small for tiny show ponies which made them almost microscopic when placed beside a standard show or non pony.

One day the entire family of tiny show ponies left suburbia to take a voyage of discovery to what was know as a circus. The circus as it was known in the area was located far off in the wild, unexplored mountains far off to the east. The journey lasted for what seemed like weeks to the tiny show ponies because being tiny in size meant that they had to take tiny steps to get to where they were going. And finally they arrived at a giant candy cane striped tent that they all assumed to be the circus and if any of them had the ability to read, they would have read the sign at the flap of the tent that read "Circus", but none of them had such abilities because they were tiny show ponies who through evolutionary processes never developed a thumb for which to hold a pen and being that they didn't have the ability to write, they never had a need to develop the ability to read. And into the tent they entered after paying a nominal fee for the privilege of doing so.

Inside the tent, there all sorts of strange and wondrous though not dangerous thing to be seen. A human who was dressed rather handsomely, lead the family of tiny show ponies to their seats. And there they sat not knowing exactly what to expect. The lights dimmed and a somewhat brighter light lit the center circle of three circles being that three was the ideal number for the placement of circles and another human with rather handsome looking hat that the father tiny show pony thought would look quite nice upon his head if it had been significantly smaller began to speak. The tiny show ponies through another evolutionary mishap could not understand what was being said but they show realized that when the gentleman with the hat spoke and pointed to a circle that they were to look there and something strange and wondrous would happen.

After what seemed like months in tiny show pony years had passed, the gentleman with the handsome hat pointed to the center circle where he had once stood but had moved to another circle before pointing back to where he had came and having learned to look where the gentleman with the handsome hat was pointing, they all did so. And what should appear before their eyes but a herd of tiny show ponies running around in circles within the circles and doing other things that seemed strange and yet wondrous to the family of tiny show ponies. They sat and watched and watched in amazement since they had never seen other tiny show ponies before and although the father tiny show pony made tiny show pony shoes, he had never seen any of his handy work in action.

When the herd of tiny show ponies had finished what they were doing, the family of tiny show ponies decided that they had seen everything that they wanted to seen. And they returned home to suburbia where the father tiny show pony went back to work to make more tiny show pony shoes until it was his lunch break when he decided he had had enough and quit. The mother tiny show pony also went back to work in the strange and wondrous though quite dangerous far off land where she, too, promptly quit and went home. Both had arrived at the exactly same conclusion at the exact same time. When the mother and the father tiny show pony reached their home at the same time when they knew that the other was supposed to be at work, they packed up the children tiny show ponies, put a sign up in the front yard though they had no idea what the sign read, and ran off to join the circus.

And so the tiny show ponies lived happily ever after with three shows a day being that three was the ideal number for shows in any given day.

THE END!
