After driving through Caracas, we headed towards Macuto, a seaside town, on the Caribbean Sea. The drive is less than an hour and the scenery is exceptional. I had seen some pictures of this region in books and I certainly wasn't disappointed when I got here. We stayed here three nights. |

We stayed at the Melia Hotel. It is rather luxurious but the rates are very reasonable. The food was tasty and we had a wide variety of choices. |
