Although many tourists buy goods from the Otavalo markets, most textiles are sold to other South Americans. There is also a substantial export business to other countries in Europe, North America, and Japan. |

This is Lago San Pablo. It is just next to Otavalo. The scenery is just superb especially with the beautiful Imbabura volcano (4,630 metres) towering behind it. There is a paved road that goes around the lake and this drive can be interesting.While in the Otavalo region we also took an afternoon to visit the Cascadas de Peguche. It is an enjoyable walk. |
