NOTE: From [an email posted on POWELL-L@rootsweb.com by “Robert, bbrocketb”] “…Where in Wales would a person find information on Vavasor Powell, who ended up laying around in Londons Fleet Jail, until he died that is, for preahing (sic) Quakerism? The reason I am tracking into Wales is supposedly his uncle Erasmus was in the ‘traditional Church’ and Vavasor worked for him before coming to England in 1642 or so. Vavasor went to jail in about 1658, dying Oc 1670-1. My relations have the constant name of Erasmus throughout the line, until recently. They first appear in England around 1676 at Witton…any thoughts.” No response was made. |
