In the very first episode of Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi is tempted to go to Masaki Shrine to see what is really inside the shrine. While he is snooping around looking for the keys, his grandfather comes in the room(with the keys although Tenchi doesn't know it). After a while, his grandfather askes if he wants the keys. Tenchi says yes and his grandfather eventually gives them to him. Tenchi is overjoyed with his accomplishment. He runs to the gate, opens it, goes in, and comes to a spot where there is a sword stuck in something, he gets it out after a while, and finds out it is a rusty piece of junk. That sword is also named Tenchi which you would have normaly found in a later episode and it was said to be the sword that cuts through stone. He actually does cut through a stone that he tests it on, which triggers a wall to open up. Then after that, he actually found a demon in the shrine just like the ledgend said. After that the demon wakes up from its slumber and Tenchi encounters it and Tenchi tries to run away from it, and does get away and he went home and went to bed. The next day at school, Tenchi is not feeling all that well after that encounter with the demon. He heads outside, and falls asleep. After he wakes up, he all of a sudden turns around and sees the demon with the body of a woman. She said her name was Ryoko. She starts to attack Tenchi because she just wants to let her anger on him. After Ryoko pretty much blows up the school, she is about to kill Tenchi but the sword he took with him deflecs the blow. He attacks Ryoko with the sword which is now something like a lightsaber. He figured out that when she attacks, all her energy comes from the gem on her right wrist. With his sword, he sliced off her whole hand. After that, she flys away. Tenchi heads home only to find Ryoko in his room on his bed.
In the second episode, Ayeka, another character in Tenchi Muyo, is flying above Earth, and she detects two signals on Earth. One is The space pirate Ryoko, which she has hated ever since she was little. The other signal was coming from her brother Yosho who she was going to marry until he had to chase Ryoko to Earth, never to return. She then flys really close to Earth where Ryoko is so she can destroy her. Unfortuneatly, Tenchi is with her. Ryoko then notces that Ayeka is outside. So she shrinks Tenchi's house and brings it with them on to her ship, Ryo-Oki. The battle a little bit, and then Ayeka finally takes Tenchi and Ryoko captive. After a while Ayeka questions Ryoko about the sword Tenchi had. Ayeka claims that it belonged to her brother, Yosho. Ryoko had no idea how Tenchi got it. Later on Sasami, Ayeka's little sister finds Tenchi. She offers to let him go, if he were to steal Ayeka's head-piece that she wears while she is sleeping just for fun. Ayeka then wakes up while Tenchi is about to steal it, but instead, Tenchi just takes his sword back. Ayeka sends her Guardians after Tenchi to destroy him. If you don't know what a Guardian is, they are big log like creatures who can use many different weapons and use shields to protect Ayeka, the first princess of Jurai. Tenchi and Sasami are running(Sasami just thinks this is a big game!) to Ryoko, and Tenchi frees her with his sword. After that, Ayeka catches up with her Guardians. After Ryoko is free, she summons her ship Ryo-Oki to crash into Ayeka's ship. Then once they have crashed into each other, Ryoko then commands Ryo-Oki to crash back into Japan. Once they do they all live together as friends...almost. Ayeka is crying because she is stranded on a remote planet and her ship is destroyed. Sasami is just dealing with it. She decides that she is stranded, so what! Ryoko doesn't really care about living at Tenchi's house. Tenchi doesn't have any idea what troubles they are going to give on the long road ahead. This is the end of the second episode of Tenchi Muyo!
