Chapter 10
I explained to Zac that it was just a joke to get Brandon off my back. Then we talked for a little bit and hung up.
Almost the second after I hung up the phone, it rang again. It was Ronnie.
"Zel, can I borrow your green flares?"
"I thought you made a resolution not to wear bright colours."
"That was days ago. Weeks if memory serves. Besides, I just bought this totally cute orange and green shirt that would match them really well."
"Okay. I'll bring them right over.
"Okay, bye."
"Bye."
I got the pants and walked to Ronnie's house. She tried on the outfit and it looked really great. Ronnie really does have a great body. She's thin and has hips that were made for hip huggers. Her only weakness is her chest but unlike some of the girls in our grade, she at least had something.
As if she was reading my thoughts, Ronnie asked, "Does this make me look too flat?"
"Compared to Melanie Brooke, you're Pamala Anderson."
Melanie Brooke is one of the girls in our grade who is very flat, perhaps the flatest. What makes her seem even flatter is that she has a twin sister, Staci, who has thwe biggest chest of anyone in our grade.
"You're right about that," she agreed. "Hey, Zel, in Literature we have to read one of those diary biographies and do a report, and I figured that if I used yours I'd get an A, so can I borrow it?"
"Very funny."
"I'd change names."
"Sorry. Oh no!"
"What?"
"I just remembered, I left my journal in the locker at school."
"Don't worry. If Jill sees it she'll just get scared of the addition signs and run away."
"You're right. But I was going to write tonight."
"Write in homeroom."
"Okay."
Then I left and went home to sleep.
When I woke up the next morning I was really cold, and that doesn't happen in Tulsa in the middle of September. Then I felt queezy. "Oh man!" I said and ran to the bathroom. When I came out I found Brandon waiting.
"Did Zellary blow some chunks?"
"Yes Zellary blew some chunks. Mind your own business."
"Are you going to school?"
"Yes," I said. The I felt queezy again. "I mean no!" I shouted and ran back into the bathroom. When I got out I called Ronnie and told her to get my assingments. She agreed and I went back to bed.

When Ronnie got off the phone with Zellary she left for school. When she got there she saw Jill coming to her. Since Marc's locker was on the other side of the building, she was would to have to defend herself.
"Hi, Ronnie. Where's Zel?"
"Home."
"Why?"
"She had the flu and I hope you catch it from her."

Jill knew Zellary took het journal everywhere. She had caught her writing in it one day in homeroom.
"What's that?" she had asked.
"Math notebook," said Zellary and immediately slammed it shut.
"Then why can't I see it?"
"I don't want you getting scared."
"Haha. Lol. All that good stuff," Jill had replied.
But Jill wasn't that stupid. She faked it. She knew that you didn't head the page with a date and write paragraphs in a math notebook. No, there was only one place you did that: In a journal.
Jill walked to the locker that she shared with Zellary. "Maybe Zel keeps her journal in her locker," Jill thought. "If so, this is my chance to find it."
When she got the door open, she began searching Zel's stuff. Soon, she found the yellow notebook that Zel had been writing in that day. She put it in her backpack thinking, "I could definately use this to my advantage."
