Chapter 3

"Just don't forget to think about me, and I won't forget you. I'll write you once a week she said. Why does it feel the same to fall in love or break it off? And if young love is just a game, then I must have missed the kick off...I'd go through hell for you. I haven't been this scared in a long time, and I'm so unprepared...This world's an ugly place, but you're so beautiful to me."~Blink182, "Going Away To College"

July 15th, the blessed day had finally arrived, and Lance was a nervous wreck. He couldn't believe that after all these years he was going to get to see Natalie again. He was scared out of his mind. What would he say to her? How should he act?

She wasn't due to arrive until later that night because her flight wasn't scheduled to land until 8:00 p.m. Oklahoma time, but Lance couldn't wait. Yet, at the same time, he thought that he could never face her. It was like he was a teenage girl who was getting ready to meet their favorite band. It was just a mind boggeling experience. He just hoped that he could keep himself under control, especially with Natalie's husband around. Lance couldn't believe that Natlie was married to one of the guys from 5ive. But hey...at least he wasn't a Backstreet Boy...

The first people to arrive were JC, his wife Rachel, and Yasmine. They all arrived together because they all had been living in the same town and had decided to make the trip together.

"Hi, guys, good to see you," Lance said to JC and Yasmine. "You must be Rachel," he said to the thin, blond girl that was with JC.

"Yes, I'm Rachel, hi," she said.

"Pleased to meet you," said Lance. "I'll show you to your rooms."

Lance started walking down the hall to their rooms. JC, Rachel, and Yasmine followed. While he was walking, Lance thought about how great this was already turning out to be. Seeing everyone again...It was just a good feeling.

JC and Yasmine really hadn;t changed much since he saw them last. JC still had the same brown hair and piercing blue eyes, and Yasmine was still tall and skinny with dark blond hair.

Once he showed them their rooms, Lance left them alone to unpack. Almost as soon as Lance left them, the doorbell rang again. He raced to the door and flung it open. It was Joey.

"Dude, hey!" said Joey when he saw Lance.

"Hey, how's it going?" said Lance.

"Good. Nice place you got here," Joey said looking around the entrence way.

"Thanks," said Lance.

"Who's here so far?" Joey asked. "Or am I the first?"

"No, JC, his wife Rachel, and Yasmine are here."

"Yasmine's here?" said Joey, his eyes perking up. "Where is she?"

"In her room. Don't tell me you still like her."

"No, not really, but she's probably still hot!"

Joey hadn't changed much either. Well, he had grown up and become more matue, but just a little bit. He had finally given up on the red and orange hair, and was back to his natural brown. And as always, he still loved women.

Over the next few hours everyone else arrived, escept fot Natalie and Scott. Around 5:30, they all sat down to dinner at the long table which was set up in Lance's dining room.

"Mmm, this is good," said Alyse who was sitting next to her husband, Ryan. Alyse had short, blond hair, and Ryan had dark brown hair and bushy eyebrows. They were both professional musicians. For the past three years they had been traveling the world playing violin together, and were pretty famous.

"Yeah, Lance, did you make this yourself?" asked Erica who was sitting on the end with her two month old son Zachery in a high chair to her right and Chris to her left. Erica was still extremely short, she had never passed five feet, and she had strawberry blond hair. Chris had long ago abandoned the dred locks, and now his hair was just plain dark brown.

"Thank you," said Lance as he looked down at the pork chops, "but, no, I didn't make them myself. Effie, my housekeeper, made them."

"Well, if you ever don't need her anymore, have her call me because I'll definately give her a job!" said Nadine. Nadine had medium length brown hair, and Josh had red hair, but unlike Joey's former hair color, Josh's was natural. Nadine had arrived with her cat, FuzzyDoodle, who was currently circling around the table hoping for a hand out. "No, no!" scolded Nadine as Fuzzy brushed up against her ankle. "No people food for the kitty!"

"So what time did you say Natalie was coming?" asked Justin, who still had the same bleeched blond curly hair.

"Well, her flight lands at 8:00," said Lance, "so I'd think she'd get here around 8:30 because I don't live very far from the airport.

"Oh, I can't wait to meet her!" said Justin's wife, Nicki, who was a sterotypical blond.

Just then, Lance's golden retriever, Hanz, came running into the room. When FuzzyDoodle saw Hanz, she went running into the living room. Hanz then proceeded to chase after her.

"Fuzzy doesn't like dogs very much," said Nadine.

"Oh," said Lance. "Hanz shouldn't cause that much trouble, usually he's pretty placid."

The doorbell rang, and Hanz started barking up a storm. "I guess today he's feeling rowdy," said Lance as he got up to answer the door. "I wonder who that could be. It's not even 6:00. Natalie's not due for another two and a half hours."

"It's probably a salesman, just ignore it," said Chris.

"No, I never get salesmen out here," said Lance as the bell rang for a second time. "It has to be someone." Lance proceeded to the door and opened it. Much to his surprise, standing on his front porch was none other than Natalie. Not being prepared for this, Lance gasped, and just stared at her, not knowing what to say...
