Chapter 3

"Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? A little too ironic. Yea, I really do think."~Alanis Morisette, "Ironic"

"Ike, whatever it is, no," said Taylor.

"C'mon, Tay," began Isaac, "all you gotta do is go in there, pretend you're a girl, and find those girls."

"And then what?"

"I dunno. They're teenagers. They'll know who you are."

"And they'll run. Ike, no one likes us anymore."

"Whatever. Just go find them."

"No."

"I'l buy you a Milk Choclate Magnum."

"Ooh! Okay," said Taylor and walked into the girl's bathroom.

"Psych," said Isaac under his breath.

The first thing that Taylor saw when he went into the bathroom was a vending machine with sanitary products. He began to wonder if this was such a good idea, but he kept going.

When he made it all the way into the bathroom, he saw girls and women of all ages washing their hands and applying make~up at the sinks. Now Taylor was lost as to what he was going to to while he waited for the girls to come out of the stalls. He couldn't just stand there. That would be too suspicious. If he washed his hands before going into the bathroom that would be suspicious too, but if he went into a stall and did his business he might miss the girls.

Then Taylor remembered that earlier that day Jessica had asked him to hold her chap stick for her. Had he ever given it back to her? No. He reached into the pochet of his cargo pants and felt the tiny tube. He pulled it ut and read the label. Bonne Bell Mint Choclate Chip. Sounded tasty enough. Taylor walked over to the mirror and started to apply.

"Honey, do you need some help with that?" Taylor heard a voice ask. He looked up and saw a woman about 30 years old. Taylor then looked in the mirror and saw that he hadn't exactly been accurate in his placement of the chap stick. It was nearly up to his nose and down to his chin.

"Um, no thanks," said Taylor shyly to the woman. She shrugged her shoulders and left the bathroom. Tayor washed off the chap stick and tried again. After he was done, Taylor examined himself in the mirror. He had done a pretty decent job this time. He was pretty proud of himself.

"Hey beautiful."

Taylor turned and saw a woman staring at him in a very un~friendship like way. Taylor realized what was happening and all he could do was blush.

"Aww! You're a shy one, aren't you, sweetie?"

"Um, I'm not gay. I'm not even a girl," Taylor said. "And I'm only sixteen."

"Oh," said the woman. "I don't like the type that plays hard to get anyway."

Taylor started to wonder why he had ever agreed to this. Then he wondered what he was going to say to the girls when they came out of the stalls. Taylor wasn't the type of person who could come right out and ask a person out on a date. He prefered more subtle ways. Actaully, now that Taylor thought about it, he had never asked anyone out before.

"Oh my God! You're Taylor Hanson!" said a girl who had walked up behind him.

"No, I'm not," said Taylor. He could feel himself blushing. He had always been a terrible liar.

"Oh," said the girl confused. "I see it now. Taylor's lips are never that dark. Even if you aren't Taylor, you're definately not a girl, so get out of the girl's bathroom."

"You can't prove that I'm not a girl."

"Yes I can. Girls don't get a bulge in their crotch like that."

Taylor looked down and sure enough, he was having a boner. Embarrased, he ran out of the bathroom.

"How'd it go?" asked Isaac when Taylor got out.

"I'll tell you someday when you're older."

"Man, was it that bad?"

"Ike, let's just say that it's scary in there."

"So I'm guessing that you didn't talk to the girls?"

"Ike, does it look like I talked to the girls?"

"Um, I guess not."

"That's right. Let's go meet Mom and Dad."

"Um, Tay, wash the chapstick off first."

"Ain't it my good colour, Ike?"

"No, Tay. It doesn't look right with your skin tone."

"I'll have to use vanilla next time."

"You do that, Tay."

~*~*~

"Did someone say that Taylor Hanson was in here?" said the blond haired girl that Isaac and Taylor had seen earlier. She had just come out of the stall and was talking to her brown haired friend.

"People always just say that to cause havoc."

"That's right. And we fall for it every time."

"But I wish it were true. Meeting Taylor would have been so great!"

"Especially if Ike was with him."

Oh, the irony!
