I was a bit disappointed when I first saw that SNK was switching from plastic shells to cardboard boxes. I am a huge fan of the Neo Geo and love how there games come in nice plastic cases. It is unfortunate that a lot of companies are switching from plastic to cardboard. I am not only a video game player but a collector as well. Besides plastic wearing better than cardboard it also looks cooler on a shelf. Then I picked up a NGPC over the weekend and was impressed. The packaging is basically the same, just made of cardboard. I think they are a lot nicer than the packaging of the Gameboy games. It is a good move for SNK because it makes the games cheaper and more cost friendly. I also think they would have more room to adjust prices than if they released the plastic cases over here. I am very impressed with the amount of people that have purchased and found interest in the NGPC. It could be the next big handheld system if SNK plays there cards right. |
