Bust-A-Move Pocket (Puzzle Bobble Mini) -- a review by NGPbizkit

Since i love puzzle games that you dot have to get to involved in, I decided to order a copy of Bust-a-move. And boy this game is really fun. I even took a 3 day break from playing Metal Slug and KOF R-2. The basic idea of bust-a-move is to line up 3 balls in a row and they disappear. If balls go past the line before you make them disappear you lose. Now I'll go into more detail

Graphics: B+
The game looks very good on the NGPC compared to the bad GBC version. For the most part the colors are bright and clear. But when it comes down to it red and pink to too similar. If you aren't in good light you can get messed up in the intense gameplay. I have only done it a few times but it is easy to do. Other than that the graphics are fine.

SOUND: A-
Not much to say here. The sound is fine. It could have speed up as balls got closer to "the line"or something. But overall there is not much to complain about.

CONTROL: A
The control in this game is great. The control stick is very effective in this game. It is very smooth. If you hold B while pointing the gun type thing, it will move very slow for a precise shot. If you press up the gun will go to an upright position immediately. Overall the control is Great!

GAMEPLAY: A
Here is where its at. And SNK/Taito definitely delivered on this one. There are basically 3 gameplay modes which consist of "Puzzle", "Survivor", and "VS-CPU".

Puzzle: You go through 99 levels trying to clear all of the balls in each puzzle. Play this on a hard level for it to be more of a challenge. While playing this section I found myself saying "this will be my last level" a lot. But it never was. I just wanted to play through all of the levels. Meanwhile, you are trying to beat all of the level with a good time to get the record on each stage. Very Cool!

Vs-CPU: You use your character and go against 8 others. Some characters are harder than others. 3 in particular. Not Much else in this section.

Survivor: The balls are moved down the screen much faster in this mode. You must clear the balls as quick as possible here, because if you dont....GAME OVER. In this mode you are trying to get the most amount of points. Points are given when you clear Balls. Pretty Simple.

2 player mode: I am just guessing (because I dont know anyone with a NGP in my area) That it is similar to the Vs-cpu mode only with a friend.

OVERALL: A
If you want to take a break from games that you have to get involved in or you just like puzzle games, this is a good choice. This is a very addictive game. I really recommend it to anyone unless you hate puzzle games. With bust-a-move you cant go Wrong!
