Metal Slug: 1st Mission -- a review by Daniel O.

GRAPHICS 9.5

After playing even the best the Game Boy Color games, one thing stands out that even the best of those cannot compete with pocket visuals of this magnitude. The fire, explosions, and character animations a re great, the backgrounds are almost photo esque. Tru that graphics only make up part of a game but some first class eye candy never hurt anybody.

CONTROL 9.2

Simply put, using the Neo Geo's thumb pad is control heaven, and Metal Slug only makes this all the better, with a game lke this tight control is very necessary, and of course with SNK's quality over quantity we can expect no less than near or absolutely perfect.

SOUND 8.0

Not much to say about this the menu music is good and the n game music is the same, the rest of the sound effects geet the job done nicely.

REPLAY VALUE 8.5

I have heard ther are multiple ways to get through the levels and there is also around 2 dozen ranks to accomplish. 5 difficulty levels is also a nice feature

OVERALL 8.8

Don't get me wrong this an awesome game, but i do have one little gripe about the way the game saves, not being able to interupt save can be frustrating if you get to a new level and die, the have to start back where you last saved, saving after you die is just a bit weird. Other than thati am very happy with this game, and really enjoy playing it. I would reccomend to anyone who likes great games.
