Sonic Pocket Adventure -- a review by Daniel O.

GRAPHICS 9.1

Overall the graphics are awesome, though some of the areas just seem a bit... basic(note that they still are VERY good though), but then others excel greatly. Sonic has a shine to him when he spins, Robotnik still blows up nicely. Most of the backgrounds are very good also.

SOUND 8.6

The music is basically taken from all of the other 2D Sonics, and even on such a small speaker is well done, though unfortunately not as well done as the Super Mario brothers theme. The other overall effects and a surprisingly good voice bit (saygah!) give an excellent soundtrack.

CONTROL 9.0

Very responsive and tight controls are needed in platform games and that is exactly what we get, in fact the game moves so fast the control might even be a little TOO responsive, not a bad thing at all.

REPLAY VALUE 9.3

Sonic takes a page out of Super Mario brothers and delivers excellently, even after you finish the initial game there is still all the chaos emeralds to gather, not to mention beating the times, the link capability and collecting pieces of a "puzzle" (which i am assuming is a pic of Sonic) This game generously POURS on the replay in a nice, old fashioned ( and good) way.

OVERALL 9.0

No way you can go wrong in buying a game this good. especially if you are into fast paced platformers, with excellent level design, great secrets and wonderful old-fashion (old-school sound better?) challenge and fun. In short, if the Neo Geo is to stay afloat in the handheld wars Sonic Pocket Adventure in no way stales the ever brightening possibility.
