Did I ever tell you about my shoes? Well, from the age of three, I have had a love affair with shoes. My parents bought me a new pair of black patent leather "Mary Jane's" for our first trip to California.
WoW, I really thought they were something! I buckled and unbuckled them all the way there! By the time I was a teen, I was on my way to owning 15 or so pairs.
Ah, high heels! Had to have 'em! One day I was on one of my shopping trips "in town". I was 16. One of my favorite shoe stores had a promotion they were pushing. You could buy x amount of shoes on credit, but on the initial day of joining, you got to take home a maximum of SEVEN pairs!
Holey moley! I had red one's, blue one's, you name it! This was my day! Of course I joined, and happily walked out of the store with my seven boxes of shoes! Now, I'm on the bus heading for home with the boxes piled on my lap, happy as can be. I walked in the house and explained my wonderful luck to my mother!
WELL! She had a fit! She told me in no uncertain terms to get back on the next bus, and bring "those damn shoes back"
Well, I packed them all up, and headed out to the bus station. I was so embarassed, and they all knew me quite well in this store. I was also told much later on, that the salesmen all ran and hid when I used to come in, because of all the shoe's I tried on. Not my lucky day, after all. At one point in my life I had over 80 pairs of shoes in my closet...I'll bet there are about 40 right now!
I sure have graduated since those Mary Janes' I wore at age three, LOL...How about these:
Ok friend's, gotta run, just heard they're having a big shoe sale in town!! Ah, Imelda Marcos my hero!!
Alas, the year is 2012...I no longer wear the sky high heels I once wore. I limit myself to a two inch wedge, LOL. Time has a way of making the changes for you. Still have about 30 pair! I'll be back!
