Surf Fest Schedule

Daily Rendezvous

Each day we will meet at Bob Hall Pier parking lot at 7:45 am to gather together to drive to the day's trips and activities. Directions...from SPID (Hwy 358) cross bridge from Flower Bluff to Padre Island, road becomes Park Hwy 22. At first stop light intersection (Hwy22 and Hwy 361)drive straight ahead (south) on Hwy22 for 2.6 miles. Take left on Beach Access Road #6 (opposite Sea Pines Road). Drive to beach, then left to Bob Hall Pier.

KAYAK DEMO LOCATION

Follow SPID (Hwy 358) to Padre Island. After crossing the bridge, #358 turns into Park Road 22. At Hwy 361 (stoplight intersection with signs to Aransas Pass and Mustang State Park to the left, American Bank and Circle K/Exon at the intersection), turn left as though going toward Port Aransas. Drive 0.7 miles over the first bridge over Packary Channel, taking a right on Zahn Road toward beach. But immediately after turning onto Zahn Road, take a right off the road onto the dirt road heading back towards Packery Channel. There are actually 2 dirt roads here...take the one passing to the left of the power line poles. There is a flat hard sand area there for parking and where we will set up the demo kayaks. Easy launch at this point into Packery Channel for protected demos of the new kayaks.

BEACH CAMPING

Camping will be at either Nueces County Park (on beach with full facilities) just north of Bob Hall Pier, or at the free beach just south of Nueces County Park. (These are contiguous areas.)To get to both of these, from Park Road #22 and Hwy 361, drive south on Hwy 22 for 2 miles, take a left off of Park Road #22 at the "Bob Hall Pier" and "Nueces County Park" sign. At the beach, go right to the park headquarters to register for camping, or continue past that point driving south on the beach to where Kleberg County starts and Nueces County Ends. Camp anywhere between the blue & white beach numbered signs 242 to 250 (about 2 to 3 miles from where Beach Access Road #6 joins the beach). Pick a place with a wide beach where there are no campers, fishermen, or RV's. We can all recognize each other by the kayaks.

Beach dinners/lunches will be at the campsite on the free beach where you are allowed to have beach fires (say at beach sign 250 or on south). Everyone bring their own water, food, stoves, wood for beach fires.
