The #Tolkien-meeting
After some serious pondering, I've decided to write my own version of what happened before, on, and after
the #Tolkien-meeting. So this is the story written by one of those "Lahti-guys", Fenris.
Kolera got, afterall, a car from his mother so we could get to Tampere. Okay.
First Kolera came to pick me, then we went to the downtown to pick up Jetibear, who I haven't ever even
met before. Eventually I asked some young guy, who was carrying bag: "Are you Jeti?", and he said: "Yes."
Then we hit it to Laune, where FbugF - or as I prefer, Insectoidus Draconus - holds his quarters. Finally,
after ID packed his stuff, we head towards Vääksy. We were already late.
If you haven't guessed yet, why we went to Vääksy, let me tell you: Chromium lives there in his parent's
humble house. Arto, Chrome's dad, gave us some driving instructions, what is the best and fastest route, etc.
Now the only problem was, that according to Fboogie, we supposed to go directly to the railway station.
In my opinion, we should drive to Tika's place. We eventually decided to go to the railway station, and
from there to Tika's. There were no one at the station, so we called Saara, who gave us instructions,
of how to get to her apartment. And if I recall correctly, when we finally arrived, the time was something like
16:30, when we should have been there hour and an half earlier.
So, there we were. Tika came to open the door and we introduced ourselves, though she knew three of us
from the smaller meeting, which we have held in Lahti. Only Chrome and Jeti were knew faces to her.
Then we went in and Ferin was making food in the kitchen. I would've shaked his hand, but it was consumed
already by some cheese. I greeted him, and went in the Saara's room. Gil, Lompa, Snaga and Yev were there.
I greeted them, and begun to study Saara's room. She had really nice drawings in her walls, and some books in
her table succeeded to get my attention. They were Lovecraft's, and that man is a genious. After some time,
Driffy called with his cellular phone. He and Marevan were coming by train. But our driver, Kolera,
who supposed to pick them up there, was already drunk. :)
Though Kolera claimed to us that he was sober. Yeah, right. I'm not sure, but I think Gil picked them
from the station. Driffy and Marevan showed up, we greeted them, and the first part of the
meeting, the gathering, was complete.
I used most of my time in the "Dark Side" of the meeting, in Saara's room. We were listening music that Saara dislikes.
But only two or three of those songs, that Saara discribes this way: "Singing sounds just like someone in vomiting."
So we respected our hostesses' wishes, and didn't listened more of such music. A song called "Nenä" was my absolute
favourite. It truly rocks. Some people were playing cards outside, what was the name of that game, I don't remember.
Though Ferin came into into the "Dark Side" and said something like this: "Man, I've followed the game this long,
and I can't still understand the rules." Well, Ferin sure understanded the rules of hand wrestling. Chrome
had humiliated Kolera and FbugF in that game, and Ferin did the same to Chromium.
"I didn't lose!", was only echoing, when Ferin left the room.
In the evening, both Ferin and Driffy were trying to guide Saara to play guitar. I'm not going to offend
Saara, but keep practicing! ;) Though I couldn't played better than she did, but still...
Tika eventually gave the instrument to Driffy, who actually was quite good guitarist. We tried to create official
meeting song, but that didn't work out. Ferin was always drowning someone in his lyrics, so we gave up.
After some time, Ferin, Gil, Lompa and Yev had disappeared somewhere. Chromium
and Kolera had fell asleep, and the same fate was waiting us untill someone, I think it was Tika, who suggested
that we head out for a "little walk". Wish I would've known better...
So we, all seven of us, left out into the night. Soon Saara said that she would like to run a bit.
Whew. We, Tika, Fboogie, Marevan and me greatly adjusted our speed suited for running. Others, Snaga,
Driffy and Jetibear were wiser and spared their powers for further use. Soon Saara got an idea
that it would be nice to walk all way to downtown. So we continued our journey there and what do you know, we were there
sooner than I would've thought. And I have to say, that some parts of the city was just like walking in the ghost town.
Though time was way past midnight. We went to "Telakan Terassi", and Driffy fattened the coinlocker of the Jukebox.
In vain, because it would've been functioning great amount of time, but they close it at 03:00. And the clock showed 02:50, or so.
Marevan tried to buy a coke, but bartender asked papers, ridiculous I say. He eventually managed in buying
that non-alcoholic drink. Poor bartender was in condition of pure confusion. Drunk? I do no know.
Then we walked to the townsquare, spent our time sitting in the bench, enjoying the night.
When we headed back, I realized, that I had to have blisters in my feet. But soon I forgot that, thanks to company.
In the way, some of us talked about some anonymous TV-serie, which I'm addicted to. Anyway, we all got thanks from drunk,
who was cycling a bike. He ringed his bell and we all dodged him. He said that the youth isn't all that corrupted.
How nice of him. Mare and I even managed to run a bit. My feet were like spaghetti.
But in the end, I felt like I could walk all away back to Lahti. For a moment...
When we got back, Gil had already left. Chromium had conquared Saara's bed, so she had sleep in the floor.
After some conversion, Yev tried to catch a some sleep. Other's teased her in finnish by saying her name in
every sentece. Mean. After awhile, I, Driffy, and Snaga were the only ones, who were awake. Soon Snaga left,
Ferin with him. I had some room under the table, where I tried to get some sleep. I only slept 30 minutes tops.
Soon everyone started the slow process of awakening.
Saara made some porridge, but I had a feeling, that I couldn't eat anything. Most of us ate it though. Chromium
was whining that he wishes to leave, because their house will be empty soon, and he has to take care of their animals.
After some time, we were leaving. I hate goodbyes, but I managed to fare them well. Hopefully we have another meeting soon.
Chromium mentioned in the way back, that it their house would be suited well for the meeting. The house has 319 squaremeters.
Sitting in the car felt so unreal, I was dead tired. We stopped at Hesburger, where I ate some frenchfries. I also
challenged Fboogie to Sufflepuck. Unfortunately I lost. Chrome also challenged Kolera, and lost.
When we dropped Chromium in Vääksy. It happened so, that I stayed there too, while others continued their
journey towards Lahti. In the evening at last, Chrome drived me home, home sweet home.... zzzzzz....
