Jamie and I first started researching breeds of dogs as soon as we knew we
were going to purchase our first home. We were not allowed to have a dog in
our previous home, since we rented. So, instead of a dog, our pets
consisted of a Bearded Dragon, Leopard Gecko, Corn Snake and even a Prairie
Dog named "Lilly." Now, in our new home, we set out to find the right
breed. We both had a few different dog breeds in mind that we thought we
would like to make part of our family, and actually were pretty set on a
certain breed. Then, we came across the Great Pyrenees, and it was all
over. What a wonderful dog! We loved their personalities, mild manners,
and calm nature. And of course, they are gorgeous! I had also been around
a couple of Pyrs when I was younger, and remember how sweet they were.
Next, we began searching for a breeder, and Great Pyrenees of South Mountain was on our
list.
Tim is the type of breeder we were looking for. Someone who cares deeply
about his dogs, the integrity of the breed, and cares about the people
looking to own one of his puppies. Tim answered all of our questions,
without hesitation, and just made us feel very welcome to call or visit the
farm any time. He has continued his wonderful communication with us, even
after we brought our pup home.
Now, Jamie and I are the very proud owner's of "Indie". She is a Dream
Catcher / Delilah pup, and is the most wonderful puppy we have ever met.
We
are very lucky to have such a wonderful and beautiful little girl as part of
our family. Her personality keeps us smiling, and her kindness is far
beyond what we would have even expected out of a young pup. She truly
epitomizes what a Great Pyrenees is-a loving, caring dog, with a heart of
gold, and some mischief mixed right in! We joke that walking down the
street with her, is like walking down the street with a rock star. We are
stopped by so many people that want to pet her, and are just so amazed at
how beautiful she is. People have even come running out of their homes as
we pass by to stop us! Our short walks, well, are never short.
