Genesis 27:3 KJV
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons,
thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field,
and take me some venison.

My 1st Turkey! Oct. 1st, 2023 at 5:02 p.m. from 24 yards.
Two hours before going hunting I decided to get a turkey license.
Two hours after going out, 19 turkeys came in and this is the only
one that came within range. Shot it from my platform blind using
my crossbow. Click Here or the picture above for a larger view.
Click Here for a additional picture at my blind.
Click Here for a picture of where I recovered it at.
You can see my platform blind in the back.
Click Here for the plaque we made.

I got a doe on Nov 26, 2022. I've been hunting since Oct 1st and I finally got a Michigan
deer for this year. It was a 33 yard shot at 5:08 pm. This is my 1st doe since 2016.
It was a good shot but it was a determined deer. We had to track it for over 400 yards.
Click on the picture or Here for a larger view.

My 4th hunting trip to Nebraska and I finally got a Nebraska Mule deer. Nov 12,
2022 (opening day), it will be a day I will never forget. The buck I got we spotted 1200
yards away. We stalked towards it for about 624 yards as it was working it's way our way
for about 500 plus yards. Losing sight of it behind a hill, I found a spot and patiently
waited for it to pop up over a hill. I took a 82 yard shot and it was down at 10:31 am.
My buck went down plowing it's nose into the ground right here: 41.898542, -100.485718.

Wow, what a day. Didn't see a deer all week.
This afternoon, Nov 19th, 2021, I missed a doe at 3:48 p.m.
An hour later at 4:50 p.m. a six point came in and
I finally got my first firearm kill at 75 yards with my
Marlin 44 mag lever action and it was on our own property.
Dan got a 6 pt on Oct 6th, 2021. So, we both got 6 points.

19 minutes earlier, at 4:31 p.m., my husband (His Page) got an antlerless.
We came home two days early from West Branch and are we glad we did.

We both shot our deer from elevated platform blinds.

This 8 point was shot using my Parker Tomahawk Crossbow
from my elevated platform blind during my 1st day of hunting.
I used a 100gr G5 Montec crossbow Broadhead.
It was a perfect shot. This is my 2nd Crossbow kill
and my 2nd deer from my platform blind.

Shot my 1st Buck Oct 22nd, 2017
It obviously has only one antler with 4 points, the other one was broken off.
Shot this buck @ 6:20pm from 20 yards. 3 fawns came in first.
Shot it with a SlickTrick Razor Trick 100gr fixed blade broadhead
on a Gold Tip Expedition Hunter arrow shot from my
Diamond Razor Edge compound bow @ 38 lbs.
It was barely a pass thru, and he's in the freezer.
Click on the 1st picture or Here for a larger view of where we found it.
Click on the 2nd picture or Here for larger view.
This is the 1st buck harvested from our own property.
I shot it from a ground blind. Click Here to see the skull cap.

Sandy Got her 1st compound bow harvest on Oct 1st, 2016 @5:40pm.
I used my Diamond Archery Razor Edge @ 38lbs @ 30yds with a
Gold Tip Expedition Hunter arrow and a Slick Trick Razortrick 100gr broadhead.
I have now shot deer with a compound bow and a crossbow.
Click of above picture or Here to see the larger picture.

Sandy shot her deer from the blind in the background and as you can see, she's HAPPY.
The picture on the left is where the doe was standing when she shot it.

Sandy got her first deer on November 16th, 2013 @ 5:23pm at 22 yards.
I used my Parker Tomahawk Crossbow with
Parker Hunter Bolts and G5 Montec 100 grain Crossbow Broadheads.
I shot it from a ground blind.
You can't see them, but it is a nubbin buck and tagged it with an antlerless license.
View the game camera picture below with her crossbow. This is the woods I shot it in.

This is my 4th season of hunting and it felt like a long time coming.
This is my 2nd season with my crossbow. I only use my crossbow during
the early anterless season and regular firearm season.

It might not be a big buck, but it was definitely well worth the 15 minute
wait for this deer to come out from behind a tree
.

My first out of state hunt in Nebraska 2015.
Wish I would have gotten one.
Seen plenty of mule deer, but it just didn't happen.

TIPS AND SAYINGS OF THE DAY FOR HUNTING

1. When you can't find the lid to the thermos, look in your hand you just poured coffee in it. (Sandy 2011)

2. If you leave your pop on the ground on a cold day and you go to drink it....it's CCCOOOLLLDDD!!! (Sandy 2011)

3. If your new gloves have magnets, holding a compass does not work. (Dan 2011)

4. I want one. I want to pet it, and hug it and make sausage out of one.....Plz...Daddy....Plz. (Kenny 2012)

5. While hunting, if the cup to the thermos is small, be careful blowing in it, coffee gets on your glasses. (Dan 2012)

6. Dont answer...waitin on 2 behibdva tree. (Sandy, text message, before shooting her 1st deer. 2013)

7. If ya see a doe, remember that ya have an anterless license. (Dan 2013)

8. If you see a deer, it just might be helpful to have the release aid out of your pocket. (Dan 2014)

9. God, Guns, and Guts. Let's keep all three . (Gromo 2014)

10. While bow hunting, if you range 35 yards, don't aim and shoot for 45 yards. (Dan 2015)

11. Aim true, follow thru. (Dan 2015)

12. Don't tell your brother to "Beat Feet" when he is driving. (Sandy 2015)

13. So, did ya run like a 30 year old. (Randy 2015)

14. Just took a shot. It turned just as I released and shot it in the a** I think. (Sandy 2016)

15. So, explain to me. Which group is at the top of the food chain? MEAT-eaters or LEAF-eaters? (Dan 2016)

16. A fork horn in the freezer is better than a 4x4 in the prairie. (Dan 2016)

17. This kind of screwing off is a lot better than being at work. (Dan 2017)

18. Sandy's text before shooting her 1st Buck, "Buck. Hold on." The best kind of text. (Sandy 2017)
