A former British Marshall Scholar, Christopher Morrongiello holds a B.A. degree from Mannes School of Music, an M.A. from Royal College of Music, and a Ph.D. from Oxford University. He also was a scholarship student at the Scuola Civica di Musica of Milan. An expert on Elizabethan and Jacobean music, he is currently preparing an edition of Daniel Bacheler's complete works for solo lute. Mr. Morrongiello serves on the faculty of Hofstra University and is a frequent lecturer at the Lute Society of America Conference and Seminar. A founding member of the Bacheler Consort and the Venere Lute Quartet, he is also a regular member of the Alba Ensemble and has performed frequently with Early Music New York.
Soprano and historical harper Marcia Young is a member of My Lord Chamberlain's Consort, Duo Marchand, and the medieval trio Trefoil. In recent seasons she has appeared in concert at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Folger Shakespeare Theatre, the Cloisters, the Yale Center for British Art, the Yale Collection of Musical instruments; the United States Military Academy at West Point; the Amherst, Connecticut, and Washington Early Music Festivals; and in collaboration with Piffaro, Parthenia, and the Newberry, Bacheler, and Folger Consorts. During the academic year she serves as Director of Performance Studies for the Department of Music at Stern College, Yeshiva University.
