Happy April Fools Day everybody! I'm afraid there's no April Fools joke on my site. . . or is there?

Well, the Bonus Comics are now up and running with their very own next/previous buttons! That took awhile to iron out. In other site news, I know I still haven’t fixed the title banner. It’s annoying the bejesus out of me, the fact that the banner is not wide enough. But I swear, it’ll be fixed soon!
Ok, so in other news, guess what I’ve been drinking in the morning? Diet Coke. I know some of you are thinking oh, gross, soda in the morning? And to you I say, that is merely social conditioning. Nearly all of the American adult population drinks coffee in the morning? What is coffee but a strong, darkly-colored caffeinated beverage that stains your teeth? Diet Coke is exactly the same except with a lot less calories. Spread the word: soda is OK for breakfast. As long as it’s a diet.

Sorry again for the site bugs! My own inconsistency is really getting to me! It’s all my fault too, sigh. I don’t have my uploading system automated and I usually end up updated around 1am California time. (PST pride, dawg). Needless to say, I’m normally way tired and I KEEP MAKING MISTAKES! The added content of updating the bonus comics and blogs makes it a little more complicated, too. I know, excuses, excuses. But sometimes there isn’t enough time in the day.
I bought a monster book on HTML and another monster on CSS (HTML and XHTML:The Definitive Guide Beginning and CSS: Cascading Style Sheets for Web Design), so hopefully that’ll help me out in the long run. I’ll get more complex stuff when I finish these two, but I don’t think that will happen until Summer Vacation.
Some good news, though. I have begun work on the new banner. It won’t be that much different than the original, just resized and with a splash more color. Once I get the banner up I’ll work on some advertisements. Advertisements. You probably don’t realize this but when I say advertisements aloud or in my head I give it the British pronunciation “Ad-vert-is-ments”. I think it’s more fun that way.

Happy Easter everybody! I thought I’d celebrate on the Internet by telling everybody I love eggs. Especially if they’re over-easy.
In other news, I am psyched because I made a custom 404error page. It was easy to make, the only problem is that the images and links on the page tend to get messed up because it gets silly and looks for things in relation to the wrong url instead of the actual location of the image or link. For example, if the error occurred in the archived blog folder, the error page thinks EVERYTHING else on the site is in the archived blog folder. Well, I guess that’s what makes it an error page . . . haha.
I am also psyched because I made a new organization system using post-its and days of the week. It is pretty awesome and cheap. I can’t wait to crumple up the first post-it. Talk about catharsis combined with a sense of accomplishment. Anyway, something you probably did not know about post-its: the recycling people hate them. They gum up the recycle machines. Do not recycle post-its unless you’ve cut off the sticky part. Thank you. Recycling people, you’re welcome.

Alright! So I’ve been doing some facebook adverts, which if you found this site off of facebook I’m sure you’ve noticed. I think it’s going pretty good, and if it works out well I might buy more. But enough of that. Down to business.
Today is the last of the pre-made comics! Long story why it’s in color, but it’s kinda funny to see how my coloring tactic has changed since then. Moral of the long story: get all business deals in writing or get paid in advance.
Tomorrow is the first of my Wacom tablet drawings! It is exciting. They come out much more uniform and easier to read! No more scanning! No more photoshopping out the scanner’s mistakes to make uniform black marks! No more resizing images and redoing the text!
Alright, so in other news I’ve been watching a lot of Superman lately. Basically Superman is the American ideal (Truth, Justice and the American way for those of you not dorky enough to know the “what he fights for” slogan), and I’ve been wondering, would anybody go for a black, Asian, Mexican or even Irish Superman? Something for you to think about. I’ll give you my 2 cents later. A cliffhanger! How thrilling.

Alright! I’ve got a month of Wacom tablets up and ready. I thought I’d show you my first drawing attempts vs. what I’m doing now.
Pretty sad at first, eh? I’ve gotten a lot better at using stylus pen now, but even with practice, I use ctrl-z (undo) a lot. After all the thousands of circles I’ve drawn, I still suck at it. Fate is a cruel mistress. Ok, I will now shut up about the tablet and how much I love it, and all that stuff.
Today is the day for you to pet a cat. Seriously, cats get all kinds of hate on Friday the 13th. They got a bad rep for what? Killing plague rats, that’s what.

So would people accept a non-white Superman? I have been grappling with this for awhile because it would be strange for me. But I believe that there are two levels to Superman. First there is the actual person Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El. I think of Superman as a person. It would unsettle me to see him suddenly change, just as it would unsettle me to suddenly see a stranger claim he was my brother.
However, there is also the esoteric Superman that is the representation of America. And I would accept any American citizen as being a representation of America or the world. I for one want more heroes to reflect reality people.
So, I have been racking my brain of heroes whose face can constantly change, but is larger than life and represents and saves the world. And then I realized, duh! Dr. Who! Dr. Who is a British time-traveling Time Lord whose face has changed many times over the past few decades. He is my favorite, favorite “hero”, and I am looking forward to his next reincarnation (after David Tennant) being non-white. BBC, I am looking at you.

It pains me to say this, but I have decided to update my normal comics only three times a week.
This is to give me peace of mind. While I still have plenty of comics waiting in the wings (about 300) it’s stressing me out that I have to draw new comics every day. So I’ve decided to scale back to three times a week starting next month (May). Only having to draw comics for MWF may give me time to go back and make some of the comics colored. We’ll see about coloring though, I’m still deciding. Coloring is a lot of work because I basically am terrible at it.
I will still be having bonus comics twice a week, so I suppose technically I’ll be updating five days a week. I have decided to keep my bonus comics still filed separately from my normal comics, so they will be like a slightly more than outsider insider secret thing to enjoy Tuesdays and Thursdays.
P.S. Sorry for posting the crappy version of “Gay Pride Gone Wrong” yesterday. It’s now fixed.

I have decided to end my last month of daily updates with a bang! Sorry for the late notice about this, but it’s so much awesomeness, I really wanted it to be going all week long. All this week I will be doing guest comics/parodies/tributes/please-don’t-sue-me’s of several of the webcomics I enjoy reading! Sheer awesomeness. Even the amazing bonus comics will be based on another webcomic. It is just for this week only for the next several YEARS! (Unless I decide to do it again sooner.)
